Correct. Was told there was an inspection boxcar roughly 2/3 from the tail end

Can view it here in a few minutes. This is from mp205 in Charlotte, MI >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5R9F0UzINQ (Cam belongs to the forum's own KC8RBK)

Doubt it as no northbounds have come through Ferndale and haven't seen 399 or 149 either as of 12:07

I was just happy to see something somewhat unusual; however, the southbounds have not appeared so far, doesn't seem like it should take more than 3 hours to get down from Lansing

Something is currently backing across Fort st on the cam. Long train to be going backwards. Instead of a caboose they got a guy riding a flat car

If you're referring to 399 and 149 they are westbound trains on the Flint Subdivision. Those never run in Ferndale. And no connection on CN with Sandusky. Dispatching is in Homewood Illinois and yardmaster on the radio in Flint Michigan.

And don't count on it taking 3 hours either. Trains can often work in Pontiac Yard.

Well that explains that... I definitely have to learn the train symbols which can be found at which locations. Been pretty quiet day over here at Ferndale

This past year or so, every day is a quiet day in Ferndale and on the Holly Subdivision. Action, what is left of it, picks up around 6 pm or so here.

So did we decide that single unit auto rack train was 251 or 491? Looked like and smelled like and came at the time of 251.

Per ATCS, E251 is the likely lined candidate around the Chicago Wye in Durand. As of this post not yet at Gaines and lined through Bancroft on Flint sub.
