**train came in with typical UP unit leading but was taken off in BC. The CN loco was 2/2 on EB M356 that went to Flat Rock last night.

04:16 - EB L500 w CN pair f/r
05:05 - EB Z148 w CN pair f/r - intermodal/autorack
07:53 - WB A491 w CN pair f/r
08:24 - EB X394 w CN 3075 leading 6 other engines - 'hospital train' being taken to Toronto for work
08:43 - WB L501 w CN 5669/CN 5655 - picked up in Lansing today.

L508 will take them tonight to Flat Rock
L506 will take them on their next trip to Toledo/Lang. They might have to sit for a day/night in Flat Rock.

Been on the back porch listening for 508 to come through Pontiac but nothing yet. Too dark out now to see the old power go by. Wow, two cowls and one of the old Conrail/CN blue devils. Funny how the GE cowls outlasted the EMD/GMD ones, one of the rare instances of such.
508 is going south through Linden at 6:27pm. All of the above mentioned scrap engines are on it behind the normal 2 CN engines (didn’t note the numbers). No intermodal today. EDIT: here's the video.

Hopefully not quite yet GTWChris!!!! Man it keeps happening with these old "Cowls" going to "Scrap!!!!" Whateveer happened to the supposed "Grain Rush" where CN is re-activating old Dash8/Cowls? Doesn't appear to be so! Just IC "Blue Devil" #2466 and BCOL "Cowl" #4609 appear to have been brought back!!!!!

Yes Manistique, I was thinking the same thing! Now, AC&W RR has some old CN SD60F "Zebra Cowls" that I have got to catch!!!! Also, CP again has SD40-2F units from their purchase of CM&Q!!!!

Well, I may have used one of my three S-VHS camcorders!!!! One Panasonic® AG455™ is working good while the other two (including a Panasonic® AG456™) need some maintenance! I have lots of other S-VHS and VHS parts camcorders too! Most likely I would have photographed these with 35mm and/or 120 film cameras! Yes I like stuff "Old School!!!!"
This was in the early afternoon at the Watkins Rd crossing on the SW side of Battle Creek on Saturday. The train was the third EB in line waiting to get into BC Yard. It was parked when I took that photo (hence the lack of headlights).
I don't know the history of the locos, so someone else will have to chime in with that info.
