LIRR ran today. Five cars for Delta Faucet.
JAIL is currently at Ensel with 821/822. Not going to CN today. They did not run south last night.

HESR 702 job arrived in Durand at 15:16 w HESR 3484/HESR 3414 and 72 cars, 42 of which were half of the NS-System grain train being loaded at Gavillon in Carrollton. The train came off of NS to the AARR to the GLC to HESR.

10/28/2022
HESR 702 job arrived in Durand at 15:30 w HESR 3037/HESR 3484/HESR 3414 and I lost count but the other half of the NS-System grain train was on the head end. We should see a GLC OSTN extra SB run possibly overnight.

That is something very different then what im used to the last time i remember the HESR going into the elevator in Carrolton it was the CMGN and it was in October of 1989 the power was the Missouri Pacific painted 4502 and the 4505 still also in MOP paint and 30 loads of grain and went straight to Durand from Carrollton. Im glad to see there doing something different then the usual.

With clean out from 2021’s harvest going on right now we are seeing some interesting grain moves with NS’s buyers in drought stricken areas needed corn. CN with their two trains that they’ve brought this week clearly has an opportunity for some extra Carloads as well.

Marquette ran three SD40 up to Manistee light this afternoon. Then after the normal turn job headed south the three SDs returned south light. They were in Manistee less than three hours.

"SD40M-2" is more of a catch all designation that some railroads use to designate a locomotive that has been rebuilt/modified to SD40-2 specs. For example, 4189 and 4190 were built as SD40s, later upgraded to SD40-2 specs. 4209 and 4225 were built as SD45s, also later modified. Some railroads use the M-2 designation and some don't. WSOR did refer to their rebuilt units as SD40M-2s but I think Watco just calls any 3,000 HP Dash 2 6 axle EMD "SD40-2".

Around 10:15 am, I drove by Hughart Yard and saw WAMX 4124, WAMX 4225, and WAMX 4190 (W and S colors). 4125 and 4225 are facing south while 4190 is facing north. Thinking 4190 has been doing Z739 Hughart Runner to Wyoming Yard. Not sure when 4125 and 4225 are going back south. There is a fine line of freight cars on one track with 5 NS hoppers and about 20-25 covered hoppers behind the hoppers

Railroad tracks near Leonard @ 1:20 pm being welded by a track crew. MQT Rail Z151 probably held up because of it.
