L302-06 by Howell at 05:18 this morning with 120 cars. Has 72 cars to set off in Lansing. 5501 + 7207 on the head end. With only two 5500 units in this number series, 5500 & 5501, what is the chance that both would be in Lansing at the same time this morning. There WILL be a Presidential train to GRP this afternoon on the Plymouth sub.

SD80MAC made a separate heads up thread for it a couple days ago. As of this typing, no mention of movement for today listed yet

At 7:50am, I assume what it was M327’s cars lined up in the yard before U301-07 started
disassembled it’s train.

U301-07/M326-06 @ 8:00am de-assembled their train from BNSF #7143 dpu. They split 72 cars onto 2 tracks.

8:15am, CSX 3260, BNSF 6209 + BNSF 6286 now connecting the BNSF 7143 and possibly Wye-ing the engines around

8:25am, CSX 3260, BNSF 6208 + BNSF 6286 + BNSF 7143 all connected and reversing into the yard.
All elphant style?

14:29 - L305 headed east thru Okemos. Do we know if the PNLX engines are still at Ann Pere? Did GLC take them north overnight?

GLC brought the lease units for use on the SRI Santa Train, PNLX 57 & PNLX 7471 in black & gold WM paint to Owosso overnight Thursday, or should have as they moved them off the CSX passing siding at Howell Thursday evening.

Thank you. I was hoping to get some nice pictures this weekend at Ann Pere, maybe they'll sit longer when they return.

BNSF #6209 + BNSF #6286 were in elephant style and were the “pusher engines” for coal trains. They headed back to whatever siding they need to go. CSX #3260 was facing east and its dpu BNSF #7143 also faced east.

Either they Wye CSX or BNSF to face west

E800-05 had BNSF engines #6209 + the #6286 as its rear DPU. This pair of BNSF engines were not assigned as be ing the "pusher engines" for the loaded coal trains. CSX engines #3080 + #238 were the former assigned "pusher engines" & on 09/22/2022 they were towed to Detroit on L303-22. Since 09/22/2022, they have been using whatever BNSF pair of engines that were convenient to grab & using them as the "pushers". So, it has been a mix of BNSF engine pairs that have been used as the "pushers".
Technically, they are not "pusher engines" since pushers are added to the rear of a train. They have been running the loaded coal trains by adding the so called "pushers" behind the leading engine, where, they end up having 3 engines on the head end & 1 rear dpu on their train.
Out of habit, the engineers & dispatchers still use the phrase "pusher engines".
