Thank you for your Bad Axe Sub information. It’s appreciated. I too would like to know what the gondolas were carrying and other business in that area.

Last night's hesr run south out of bad axe had roughly 12 covered hoppers and two of the g/w orange units for power.

They brought back 7 gondolas from somewhere south of bad axe…..

Wow you don’t get many C&M reports. Kudos Mr. Z after 18 years you still haven’t lost your edge. lol

When I retire I thought about volunteering on the C&M track gang.

Grand Elk horn heard at 10:14pm at Wyoming 54th St. can not confirm if it’s the same train. Maybe a northbound train?

Pretty sure that'd still be the northbound train. Perhaps they worked Zeeland Lumber south of 54th? I dunno.
They were back south at 1:20am per wifey.

Grand Elk just passed the Elkhart cam heading back towards Kalamazoo with WAMX 4209 and WAMX 4189 leading the way long hood forward followed by 37 cars. A mix of box cars, tank cars, a few loaded center beams, covered hopper and regular hopper cars. A few of the regular hopper cars were filled with coke.

I just drove by 54th St in Wyoming at 5:00pm and happened to get a glimpse of 2 boxcars left on the tracks about 200-300ft south of the crossing.

Im not sure what was the plan to leave 2 boxcars behind.

Grand Elk horn heard in the distance at 44th St Wyoming at 5:18pm. Possibly a switcher? Or the southbound train?

Andy, have to guess they left some of their cars south of 54th, switched Magic Steel possibly and went back south to grab their boxcars? Dunno.

Possibly, Grand Elk doesn’t blow their horn often when they come to 54th St. didn’t realize they have a customer near the 131 and M6 interchange

@830 am The Grand Elk just passed the Elkhart cam heading in the Elkhart yard with WAMX 4189 and WAMX 4209 leading the way along with 52 cars. A mix of box cars, tank cars and covered hoppers. The covered hoppers probably made up about 36 of 52 total cars being taken back to Elkhart.
