Re: CN Train Location Updates - August 2022
JT Railfan, I got this train in Port Huron!!!!! First I caught a westbound CN "Auto-rack" train with two SD70M-2s, 111 cars at Dunlap Road. Got there just in time! Then went to catch 397 at 16th Street Amtrak®! "Green Light!" Came in approx. 10 minutes at 4:37 p.m. My S-VHS camcorder battery was dead, did not bring spares. I only captured it there with a 35mm Canon® AE-1 Program. Good to capture the IC "Blue Devil" and BCOL "Cowl!" Why a CN C44-9W? Where are these headed to? My Mom (Susan the driver) took me to Michigan Road! We tried the Service Road and had no problems! Train 397 switched the yard and I was able to also capture pix with two Medium Format cameras. Great to catch it here! Looked like 385 was also switching! Just had two plain CN "Widecab" GEs! Good timing for everything! The real question is: What's next for these "Dead" units? Someone mentioned they are being re-activated for the "Grain Shipping" season! Hope so! Or could these also end up at LTEX?
JT Railfan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 6:49 pmRobertrains wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 11:26 amOK, a post reported on Facebook® "Tim's Railfan Group" Michael Wiley mentioned "CN 397 currently stopped at Georgetown, Ontario (waiting on 394) MP 23 Halton Sub as of 1049 with CN 5748, CN 8956, UP 8531, IC2466, CN 2576 & BC Rail 4609 F/R/F/R/F/F." This was at 10:51 a.m.
Now, did CN sell "Blue" IC C40-8W #2466 and BCOL "Cowl" C40-8M #4609? These two were recently "Active" on CN!!!! 2466 has P.T.C. Well, could these also be going to LTEX? If so, they probably will head down the Mt. Clemens Sub. Is CN C44-9W 2576 part of this? Or is 397 just a regular train using these old units? Are they still "Active?" That would be the best! MAN!!!!
Well, did L506 already take those BCOL "Cowls" etc. to Toledo, OH Lang Yard? I have been looking at this street cam and have not seen those units: https://www.ohgo.com/toledo?lt=41.69961 ... 0000000229
In Port Huron atm

Re: CN Train Location Updates - August 2022
Perhaps bad dispatching on CN's part, as L508 was given the go, forcing Amtrak P364 on M2/main to have to hold at cpClara mp252.9, just .04 miles off from Durand Union Station. L508 started around the High Wye in Durand around 21:54. P364 is usually slated for a 21:31 arrival to Durand.
P364 finally got lined to Durand Union Station, Flint, and beyond at 22:14.
Later on around 22:50, there ended up being a second train from Flint to line SB upon reaching Durand. Don't know if a second L508 or what.

Re: CN Train Location Updates - August 2022─WESTBOUND TRAIN 397 WITH "BLUE DEVIL" 2466/BCOL "COWL" 4609!!!!
OK, guys on Michigan's westside go catch CN TRAIN 397!!!! It should be around Lansing by now!!!! Such a "Rare" catch with IC "Blue Devil" #2466 and BCOL "Cowl" 4609!!!! What will happen to these units next? Glad I caught them yesterday afternoon in Port Huron!!!! "Heritage Units" has yet to have posts on these units for months! I thought for sure somebody'd report it at Durand! They have the "Rail Cam!!!!" Well, is it true that CN is "Re-activating" these units for the grain season (and possibly the ones sent to Ohio yesterday....unless LTEX purchased 'em)? No one should ever pass an opportunity to photograph "Cowls" or any C40-8 "Variant!!!!"

OK, some guys on Facebook® "Tim's Railfan Group" mentioned that CN is just moving these to re-activate them for the "Grain Shipping Season!!!!" The CN C44-9W is also going to for a "Re-build!!!!" Well, this is good news! Guess after some C44-9Ws are rebuilt and more new CN units arrive will finally put the "Nail" in the Coffin for "Cowls" and any kind of C40-8 "Variant!!!!" Cool, we'll have more chances to catch working "COWLS!!!!"LansingRailFan wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 11:06 amCN 2576 going to Watco for a rebuild.

Well, where is CN 911 "Hazmat" Tank Car going? Is it in the middle of the train? This train must be going to Sarnia! Where is it now (12:45 p.m. +)? Also, I am getting "Conflicting Reports" about the old "Cowls" and C40-8 "Variants" being re-activated!!!!! Someone said train 397 is taking IC "Blue Devil" #2466 and BCOL "Cowl" 4609 to "Scrap!!!!" This does not seem to be the case as "Active" CN C44-9W #2576 is sandwiched between them!!!!! Facebook® is not always the best!
