MQT Z151 is tied down in Newaygo for the weekend, with the power idling near the the River Street crossing and a looooong train stretched out over the river and through the wood well to the east of M-37. Sd40-2 leader, a yellow geep, and at least one other SD for power. There was also a cut of OCCX and tankcars in Grant, not sure if there was any power with it.

Was there a load of CSX Grain cars associated with MQT Z151?

it appears two different jobs are in the yard in bad axe currently for hesr.
One of the rail america units and the black 3037 are tied up to a short 3-5 car train on one of the sidings in the yard, probably the croswell job for Tuesday they have been running Tuesday/Thursday the past couple weeks with this power.
There are also two of the orange g&w units parked on the main next to the old engine house with a couple covered hoppers and another 25 or so on the other long siding. I'm assuming this was a extra just for these hoppers maybe for the elevator in Ruth or kinde?
This is the first time in a long time I remember having more then 2 locos sitting in the yard in town here, nice to see more then a couple cars sitting around too at any given time

Thank you for the HESR Bad Axe post. It is nice to get reports about what is going on in that area.

I suspect MQT Z151 will bring in a huge train into Wyoming Yard on the fourth. They did the same thing on Memorial day. Hope someone can confirm this possibility.

I scouted things out a bit more on my return trip south along the MQT today. No, there are no grain trains at the Newaygo MAC or included in any part of the lengthy southbound currently parked in Newaygo. Grant siding is full of all sorts of cars, boxcars, tanks, hoppers, and a couple gons. Not sure if these are to go north or south. There’s even a small cut of cars on the east wye in Baldwin.

JAIL worked Lansing during the day yesterday. Long cut of mostly boxcars picked up from CSX and CN for Michigan Packaging. 1760/821 were the power. It seems that the coil traffic has (a) slowed due to model changeover and (b) primarily switched back to NS.

LSRC Z490 departed Saginaw for Bay City at 12:50 with CSX units for power.

LSRC was reported to be SB thru Holly at 13:22 with LSRC SD50 6351 leading LSRC SD70M 6431 on a unit grain train. Is this the first time that the first two SD70Ms have been split up?

The entire auto industry is down for summer break this week and next.

Yes

The coils have switched back to NS because the supplier switched and the new supplier isn’t on CSX.

Lansing East local currently building their train at Ensel. ADM and other covered hoppers and tankcars so far. CSXT 8199 and 4228 for power. It looks like JAIL pulled that line of storage cars off their pass track and no interchange cars are present at this time, either.
The cars were moved to Saginaw Yard for some tie-work on the track. Day crew today is running in Detroit.

I believe Grand Elk horn was heard on north side of Bryon Center/Wyoming. I’m located in Wyoming area.

At 8:19pm, saw the 54th St crossing activate but no signs of a train
