If I'm hearing correctly as of 6:47, It was an engine fire and Amtrak is parked near Moterm, most likely later tonight one of the engines assigned to the L515/L513 job will grab the train and tow it north.

I doubt there is much in the way of usable equipment laying around in Chicago.
They seem to being using whatever they can use to get the trains out.

Collision was at Clark Road. They were delayed for over an hour at Hick just west of there - then it got a lot worse.

Expect a very delayed 365 today then, since 364 didn't make Port Huron until around 0600 ET this morning.

If ever there was a road that needed closed, this would be candidate number 1 for the area......far too many incidents have happened here account of how it's protected, the number of crossings, and of course, the idiot truck drivers who can't comprehend that just because their cab is clear of one of the crossings, their trailer more than likely isn't clear of the ones behind it

P350 had #69 this afternoon

There was a Charger locomotive at the north end of the depot track in Pontiac last night so they are going back to their old routine of having an extra locomotive assigned there.

Amtrak 351 was an hour late leaving Pontiac this morning for some reason.

Just curious, but does anyone know what’s going on with the empire builder?? It’s been getting to Chicago at least 5 hours late for the last week, I’m asking because I’m going out to Chicago area for spring break and I’m hoping to see the new ALC’s in action, but is the delays due to the engines breaking down or weather or some unfortunate circumstances?

PTC issues with the new ALCs plus wintertime issues on the Northern Transcon.

Yes 350 arrived at Pontiac very late. 352 was close behind, only about 15 minutes late. But 354 was over four hours late, arriving at Pontiac this morning around 5 am for some reason.

I think 350 went back to Chicago as 355 around 9 pm or so as I thought I heard him go by my house then. It arrived in Chicago 3 hours and 45 minutes late but they need that trainset there for 350 this morning. Crazy day for Amtrak's Wolverines.

However, 351 left pretty much on time this morning so hopefully everything is back on schedule today.

On March 7, Amtrak revises schedules of Pontiac-Chicago Wolverine trains. To accommodate anticipated track work, 17 min. is added to most schedules. Dwell time at Battle Creek (where crews are changed) is increased from 4 to 6 minutes, and approx. 15 min.is added to westbounds beyond Hammond-Whiting, IN and to eastbounds between Ann Arbor and Dearborn. Morning train 350 leaves Chicago 35 min. earlier and midday trains 352 leave Chicago 50 min. later while 353 leaves Pontiac 48 min. earlier.

350 did well into Pontiac today and had a second engine so 355 should be okay.

355 did not have the engine on the tail, nice horn salute at Woodward Avenue, judging by the voice on 160.590 it sounded like our friend Buster Manning was the engineer
