A long, for this end of the line anyway, cut of around 40 cars mixed hopper and tank cars sitting on the hesr mainline just south of bad axe should mean a rather nice train headed west towards sebewaing later this evening, typical time lately of leaving bad axe has been 6-8pm from what I can hear while I'm at work nearby.

No no… the RRfan user SD80MAC is running the train. If an actual SD80MAC went down that railroad it would probably spread the gauge.

Grand Elk north through Byron Center at 12:26pm. WAMX 4209, WAMX 4125, and a very clean 3rd GDLK unit of (38)07? 07 for sure were the last two digits. About 12 cars.

Back south at 4:06pm. WAMX 4125, WAMX 4209, and about 15 cars.

Ann Arbor weekend operations? Re: Shortline Updates - November 2021

Unread post by Robertrains »

I would like to catch the Ann Arbor Railroad® in Ann Arbor this weekend! Does AARR come to Osmer on Saturday or Sunday usually? That would be something to catch crossing the Huron River bridge! Does anyone here live somewhere along the line between Ann Arbor and Toledo? It would be nice to get a "Heads Up" a while before it gets to Ann Arbor! "Mazon" and I will not go unless we know something will be there!!!! I want to photograph ex ICE GP40-2 HLCX #4215!!!!

At 8:50 the EOT frequency said GDLK was in the metro Plainwell area. Not sure which way they're headed.

WAMX 4125 running LHF with 12 cars north through Byron Center at 10:05am. Couple boxcars up front, few open hoppers, tank cars, and some covered hoppers to end it.
Nice to see them running on a weekend.

They still go on duty at 0800 in Kalamazoo? Or is it earlier now?

Probably what it was, should start seeing bigger car counts more frequently now with peak harvest.

Going through Elkton today was pretty empty only about 8 hoppers at the big co-op east of town, nothing at the other two or any gondolas for tower.

The west bound power never came back to bad axe Friday since it isn't in the yard as it would usually be for the weekend

Did they ever say what caused the Brohman, MI derailment yet? Do they truck the damaged cars or put them on another railcar to be taken somewhere?
