The CSX maintainers and electricians continue to troubleshoot the St. Joe Bridge. For almost a week now, it has been plagued with a breaker that trips mid-opening. There’s no way to reset it except to take a boat out to the bridge.

Yesterday, the Coast Guard was not available, so they were forced to take the CSX company rowboat out to the bridge. After getting it closed, they decided not to open the bridge overnight except in case of maritime emergency. The electrician didn’t feel he could make another to the bridge in the rowboat, given the worsening weather.
Rowboat, that's funny

Lol. I’ve never seen the CSX boat. I’ve often looked at the boat shed and assumed CSX had a boat in there for emergencies. But having lived here since 2012 and never seen it, I started to wonder if maybe they had gotten rid of the boat—maybe the Coast Guard or someone else would provide boat service when needed?

To remain reliable, an outboard motor would take regular maintenance, and never once has the shed been open.

Now, in the last week, I’ve heard both the bridge operator and the electrician call it a rowboat. So maybe it is exactly that!

I'm going to wager there is a good reason that breaker keeps opening up on them. Load test that motor. Probably drawing too many amps. I'm going to suggest its got an internal fault or short and it's days are numbered.
