HESR ran an extra job today. Crew was cabbed from Saginaw to Durand. Used one of those red white blue engines and took one tank car back up to Sargents and went power light to Saginaw.

Who says G&W isn’t about customer service!

MQT southbound Baldwin depot with 3408, 3406, 3389 and 57 cars, 18:05hrs. Empty BCOL bulkhead flat and 2 CSXT gons right behind the power, then tanks, covered hoppers, and about 10 boxcar loads at the rear.

The southbound Z151 tied down at Nelson’s Farm Market on the north side of Grant and will start their day there on Monday, with 57(ish) cars they left Baldwin with on Friday late afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Manistee job came down late Friday (I assume) and grabbed the northbound cars from Baldwin and left another block of southbound traffic in the west yard. GP38-2 2043 has been tied down all weekend beside the Baldwin depot - is a separate crew now based here or is this where MofW work is being done? Unlike earlier in the year, I didn’t see any ballast or MofW equipment in the area.

Some rumors going around that JAIL will be receiving two 20-car blocks of coil cars for RSDC in Holt this week. This time however they will be coming from CSX. That means a potential 3-unit train during the daytime north run.

No clue. When they get coils occasionally from CSX they come from South Carolina I believe.

Jail was spotted in lansing crossing MLK/N. Grand River this morning around 10:20 AM. 1760/1758 were the units.
They were headed from Ensel Yard to CN interchange/Padnos/Saginaw Yard.

Grand Elk south through Byron Center at 2:02pm. WAMX 4189, WAMX 4225, HLCX 3834 and about 40 cars. Must have ran north Thurs or Fri and didn't see it and just didn't go back south on the last run.

Grand Elk north through Byron Center at 11:11am. WAMX 4206, WAMX 4209(maybe 4009), WAMX 4017, and 65ish cars.

Back south at 2:20pm, 4209 4206 long hood forward, maybe 20 cars.

2 boxcars and a coil car.

Due to some track issues after those storms they didn’t run Thursday or Sunday night. Last night they came up with over 30 cars from Jackson. Peter Mayor chased them and posted some great shots on the FB.

JAIL NB across Oakland. Looks like they have a boxcar and two scrap gons. Picked up from CN today.

Gons are going to Padnos so they will work Padnos on their way before hitting Ensel.

Back south at 2:47pm with WAMX 4225, WAMX 4209, and 47 cars. Good 20 covered hoppers on the headend.

They stopped to pull a flat car from Ambassador Steel (just north of Jolly Road) before they stopped at RSDC to pull all the empty cars for tonight’s run south. They will put them on the siding by the engine house.
