D708 will be leaving Lansing in the next hour or so with the usual GP40-3/SD40-3 pair, 16 cars and a CW44AH that will be dropped off at Peaker.

Q327-27 with CSX 750 on the point trying to get going from Wyoming Yard. The head end is at 28th St. in Grandville. The rear of the train is just past Wyoming Yard. They just completed the air test.
At 09:57 am, Q327-27 was advised by Dispatch they will not be permitted to depart Grand Rapids due to the excessive time that was spent getting their train together & not enough on duty time to take their train to Chicago. They are to cut their train of any crossings being affected by them - sounded like they were at Ivanrest mp CG4.7

At 10:04 am, Dispatch had asked them if they still had their cab with them (they do) & was told they are to go to the West Olive power plant & build an empty coal train once they are done doing what they must do at Grand Rapids to cut & secure their train.

Proceeded east from Lansing sometime around noon. Wasn't present for it but a friend was who called after it'd passed him. 6560+4016+5015. Latter of course for Peaker.

Unit for Peaker would be 5105, not 5015. Same unit that was on D705 out of Detroit last weekend. D708 departed Ann Pere east at 2:30pm after leaving cars for GLC on the main and picking up 40 from the Howell pass.

hi tom
saw 327 at grandville at 1125a tied down with ivanrest ave crossing cut.
it may be that the d801 crew was in fact a d job out of the plant.
normal 326/ 327 crews are qualified to run wyoming to chicago ( barr yard ) only,
but are not qualified to run from the plant to the wye's at waverly. only the loads,
empties, d job, 700 and 702 crews are qualified to run on the fremont sub that i'm aware of.
702 return from wyoming with 27 cars iicc approx 230p
327 by the tower approx 346p with another 30 or so cars to setoff and the dpu unit was tail end charlie.
then approx 415p a lite power single 4 axle went west by east waverly ( could have been 702 working zeeland lumber? )
they would be clear of 327 on the mj lead in zeeland.
didn't have any scanners on and don't know if it ended up at waverly or not

Hi ya Donnie, I had followed Q327 on the Ch 8 & Ch 35 scanners & they were ID'd as being Q327 from the start of their work. Dispatch had told them too much time was spent to get their train together & take it to Chicago & were instructed to tie it down & have their taxi take them to West Olive to build an empty coal train. Q327's response was "so, we're a D train crew now?"

Q-jobs pay higher rate than a D-job. That might piss them off…
