CSX Train Location Updates - June 2021

The last mention of D705 was yesterday:

D705-15 @ 10:58 westward reported from Pleasant St mp CH151.3 with CSXT engines #465 + #467 & 100 cars.

We should be expecting them soon right? I was surprised to see two D706's between yesterday evening and this morning.
Sounds like both sets of power are in Detroit.

I had seen posted on railroadfan saying D705-16 was to be on duty in Detroit at noon today. They'll have to get their train together & whatever else the crews need to do when they 1st start duty before they can depart. He might have CSX engines #5243 + #5406 today.

Q326-16 @ 14:30 eastward reported by the DD mp CG19.1 with 348 axles & 4,551 ft. CSXT engines #3473 + #348 & 84 cars. He had set off 24 cars in Waverly/Holland.

D702-16 @ 14:59 backing eastward on the Main Track Holland Depot mp CG25.3 with 3 empty Gons & CSXT engines #2349 + #2502. He'll be going westward into the Dock Track.

I was reviewing my notes for D705 & D706 and I’m thinking the 2 sets of CSX engines (#5243 + #5406 & #348 + #3473) that were used on the Plymouth Sub-division may have needed to go to Chicago because: periodic inspections were due, repairs, or maintenance were needed. In the meantime, a couple of spare sets of engines had to be found for the Plymouth sub (CSX engines #465 + #467) & for the Grand Rapids sub (CSX #5315 + NS #3632).

D705-12 had the CSX #5243 + #5406.
The next day they went to Chicago powering Q327-13.

D705-13 ran with CSX engines #348 + #3473.
On June 13th, neither D706 nor Q326 ran.

The #5243 + #5406 engines had returned to Grand Rapids powering Q326-14.
On June 14th, neither D705 nor Q327 ran.

D706-15 ran with CSX #5406 + #5243.
Q327-15 went to Chicago with CSX engines #348 + #3473 powering it.

The #3473 + #348 engines had returned to Grand Rapids powering Q326-16.

Have to wait & see what D705-16 is running with today & if tomorrow the #3473 + #348 will go out on D706-17.

D708-16 after not working yesterday just arrived at Ann Pere with 77 car for GLC to be parked on the main, picking up the 69 cars GLC left early last evening and taking them to Brighton to run around their train and head back west, GLC already on their way to Howell from Durand. This means todays D705 wont be here for awhile yet.

D702-16 @ 16:19 eastward on the Dock Track to Main in Holland near mp CG25.3 with CSXT engines #2349 + #2502 and 8 Gons loaded with scrap metal + 1 Tank car.

D802-16 @ 16:20 has his EC1 to proceed eastward from Grand Jct mp CG54 with BNSF engines #6178 + #5619 & 130 loaded coal cars & CSXT rear dpu’s #7010 + #16. This was N801-11 that had tied down there on June 11th.

D705 is sitting at a stop indication on the main at WE South Lyon.

Where they’re stopped, I can’t see the power clearly. But there is a CSX, two UP, and then a fourth.

They just spoke to the dispatcher to ask what they’re waiting for, the dispatcher said they’re waiting for D708 who is in the process of running around the train right now in Brighton.

D705 has CSX 3266, UP 8106, UP 7327, CSX 537, with CSX 849 DPU at the end.

After getting a stop indication at WAS EE Brighton, and blocking Ricket, Brighton Lake, and Hyne St for about 15 minutes, D705-16 is thru Brighton at 17:53.
Anyone know where those extra engines are going? I'd guess the CSX is going to Peaker and the UP's are going to Chicago?

Of the five units on D705-16, 3266 and UP 8106 were running, the 2nd UP unit 7327 and CSX 537 were shut down. 537 had its stacks capped indicating it has been in storage, or perhaps now going to Ft. Worth for rebuild. DPU unit 849 on the rear was working hard for only 29 cars.
