Where is the dirty dirt from in those gons?

D736? Southbound sitting in Wixom blocking all traffic waiting to head south. CSXT 292 leading (YN2) + 1. Could not see the second units #

Edit: @9:00 still sitting blocking all traffic through Wixom. Any idea what’s going on? He’s got his headlight on

Not sure of the origin. Like similar loads in the past, it was covered in black plastic. There is a place near Wayne called Environmental Quality that handles shipments like this.

hi lansing railfan
the covered gons are from the ash pits of the decommissioned power plant at muskegon.
iirc this is a est. 2 year project to get all the pits cleaned of contaminated soils and ash.

Are there restrictions on CSX Main, South of Wyoming Yard? Amtrak was late into Bangor by 40 or so mins, arr 10:30pm. Now it has been standing for 20 mins (10:50pm). Or are they having power iissues?. Not a normal engine.

Any word?

Apparently an Engineer in cab does not suffice, if PTC is down. True?! Or do I mis-understand? Re: Amtrak stopped...

I had stepped away after that DD report but is there something in particular you're looking for that can be found in the scanner archives?

Well, it was in the last hour, not sure the exact time. And I don’t know anything about any scanner archive.

I found in the archives the CSX Bridge Tender giving Amtrak a roll by, which they usually do when a train's last car has cleared the St Joseph Bridge (it has a 15 mph speed limit for all trains). Once the DD91.9 report is heard, we usually don't hear much beyond that. Broadcastify has a Premium membership for $30/year & you won't hear any commercials & you can go back 1 full year for every scanner feed they have. It has a calendar & and all of the logged calls are shown in 1/2 hour increments.

Q326-06 @ 09:23 eastward reported by the DD mp CG91.9 with 256 axles & 3,603 ft. CSXT engines #586 (?) + #989 (?) & 61 cars. Calls are breaking up & surprised if these are the engines he has already returning. I was guessing they had service work to be done. He has 9 cars to set off at Waverly/Holland & is meeting Q327 at the St Joseph double track.

[Note: it was CSXT engines #586 + #989]

Most of my scanner listening is on the phone app "Scanner Radio."
