Must have gone back south because there were no cars on the Otsego branch.
I reckon you are correct as they didn't come north into Byron Center on Sat/Sun as usual.

JAIL came up today and grabbed two cars from CSX and dropped off none. They were working on more tie replacement today as well through Cavanaugh Yard on the main.

Back south at 11:08pm with what looked like 4225, a 2nd loco, and 52ish cars.

Grand Elk north through Byron Center at 4:34pm. WAMX 4209, WAMX 4225, and WAMX 4017 with about 20 cars. Had at least one loaded centerbeam, and a good amount of cars for Moline.

Back south at 7:55pm, GATX 2204, WAMX 4225, and 4209 and about 25 cars. Haven't seen that blue loco head by anytime lately.

MQT is currently spotting the grain train in Newaygo for loading. When they're done with that, they will head to Grand Rapids to interchange their freight like normal.

Thanks a ton for the update on that. I couldn't tell what it was. Didn't look like the grain elevator was shipping by train but couldn't tell from the vantage point I was at. Was kind of downhill.

Moline has a fertilizer customer. The spur starts by the elevator and extends north to the fertilizer customer and beyond quite a distance but I don't think the elevator ships anything by rail.

Grand Elk in Moline, MI about 6:15 PM. Been giving chase since they left GR just shortly after 5pm. Still the same WAMX engines as the previous poster states.

Currently in Moline they're working some customers off the main line. Looks like a grain elevator and something else not sure what the second is.

MQT looks to have left some of the Newaygo cars at Sparta Siding. When we went thru New Way Go they were still loading a string of cars down in the plant and a crew was up on the loaded hoppers putting tags on the loading troughs.
Hardy pond is down about 12 to 15 feet. Lots of stuff exposed and islands show where there had been none for a long, long time. Another interesting point I noticed...MILLIONS of little broken clam shells...I am thinking zebra mussel shells, lining the beaches behind the dam. MILLIONS.

Grand Elk northbound through Byron Center approx 12:45am this morning, maybe 30-50 cars. Woke me up, had a hard time falling back asleep. Neither wifey nor I heard the train go back south, but doesn't mean we didn't sleep through it, so it might still be in GR. Wonder if they ran so late due to lack of crews from picking up an NS grain train at Elkhart to take to White Pigeon yesterday afternoon.
