So have either the 352/351 or the 354/353 consists had an additional cars added this week for holiday capacity? Or the Blue Water? The PM remains with its usual 3 Superliners. One additional Amfleet 2 coach has been added to each Lake Shore Limited consist. It looks like they swapped out the coach-baggage superliner on the Capitol for a standard Superliner coach and also added a full baggage car, but that only buys you what? 12 or so additional seats on the lower level?

Wolverine trains have been normal consist levels so far. 4 cars on 350 today and 5 cars on 353.

I can remember riding the Blue Water from Chicago to Battle Creek in 2012 or so on Thanksgiving Weekend and having 10 coaches and 2 cafe cars in the consist.

I suspect staffing issues, on board and off may have been a factor.

350 had a charger today. Should be a charger on 355. 58 was on 354 last night and should have been on 353 today.

Good find. They have been rotating that locomotive strangely. Per a FB group it was supposed to lead 353 today. Can't believe that that is "good power" on Amtrak now

I’ve heard a rumor they’ve been having issues with ITCS and they’re trying to figure out if it’s the chargers or the system itself having issues and the only way to test is using a P42, is that true…? It seems plausible to me

Does 58 have ITCS? Do the “original” ITCS 26-37 and 126-128 still have that equipment onboard or has it been removed now that they are unassigned from the Michigan Line?

AFAIK 58-68 or 69 are from the Illinois group of ITCS units which came over here right before the chargers took over.

That and most of the original ITCS units were being stored in New Orleans for a while. Now they see service across the country.

9:45 PM: According to a report in the field, 352 is having issues with their lead engine, they're running 3 hours late and is just getting into ann arbor

They stopped at 21st St, somewhere on the Chicago Line, and just short of Michigan City, at least, losing the bulk of that time.

I’m wondering if it’s ITCS, they’ve had lots of issues with it lately
