251 reportedly has a GP38-2W leading out of Flat Rock…can anyone confirm???

Update: can confirm it is leading solo with a sizeable train in tow…this is gonna be REALLY interesting to watch it fight the grade between Royal Oak and Bloomfield Hills with slippery rails.

CN 4805. Went by the Fort St cam at 8:28.

Maybe they will pick up more power in Pontiac

Prediction: It will stall in Bloomfield Hills and a locomotive will have to be sent down from Pontiac to rescue it. Not uncommon. Years ago when there were many more trains on the South Holly they would just have the one following it next couple on the rear and shove it with their train in tow into Pontiac Yard. Once caught that happen twice in one day in a snowstorm.

He’s REALLY short for a 251, 37 cars but the majority of them are loaded which brought it to its knees going up the hill by Opdyke. It shouldn’t be much of an issue for the rest of the trip.

That's why only one locomotive. Glad it made it. Cleaned out the carbon on that old prime mover I bet. Exciting railroading.
