Grand elk north through Byron Center at 12:06pm. Wamx 4209 and wamx 4206 with 13 cars. Covered hoppers, boxcars and tank cars. Couple of those old MQT boxcars in there. Don't recall the southbound yesterday, probably why different power is up here today.
Power was still in GR as of 1330. Looked like they had a decent southbound run ready when they get hooked up.

About 11:30 AM as I was heading getting on 131 in Kalamazoo, I heard the Elk calling AML dispatch for permission to cross the AML. They were leaving Botsford (that's what they called it) and were going to head north on the BO Secondary. We're going to lunch t the Old MIll so maybe we'll see them.

Edit: Perhaps I was a bit premature. No train yet., and its now 1:30.

I think one of the cars is CRYR 636244

Wow, that was one of the largest loads I have ever seen with 2 GDLK engines on cam. When they get up to Grand Rapids, you don't see many 70+ loads. The largest load I caught was 3 GDLK engines and 49 cars.

Long ones aren't too common. In 2021, seemed to be a bit more often at least. Oct 1st of 2021 had a 2 loco train. They had a lot of crew issues at that time. Believe that week they only ran south once so it was a weeks worth of cars.
Grand Elk south through Byron Center at 4:12pm. WAMX 4125, WAMX 4209, and a MASSIVE 119ish cars. Longest I've seen this year.
