From the useless information files, CSX 3333 was the leader on the final RBBB circus train leaving Charleston, West Virginia in 2017.
I was the engineer on part of the run over the Kanawha River RR.

R598-27 @ 13:50 copied their EC1 to depart the power plant in West Olive, Mi mp CGP 1.0 & diverge onto the Fremont sub-div & head south to the Grand Rapids sub-div in Holland, Mi with BNSF engine #5943 & 130 empty coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #9258 & CSX engines #3293 + #3201. He’ll tie down on the Main Track at Grand Jct. between with an "E crew" called for 16:00 He'll then add his CSX power to C801-27 that's tied down inside of Grand Jct siding mp CG54 & take that train to the power plant in West Olive, Mi.

He’ll tie down on the Main Track between the Grand Jct signals mp CG54 / mp CG55.6 "E crew" called for 16:00 Next, he'll be moving out C801-27 loaded coal train that is tied down inside Grand Jct siding.

CSX M510 @ 15:43 passed Deshler Cam on SẼ Wye with CSX 5496/CSX 5381/CSX 8199/CSX 4037 and around 100 cars. Spotted 1 ZVBX car in the mix near rear end. ZVBX 19055 markings.

Look for that 8199 to head to GR on L302 tomorrow. Possibly replacement power for 4003 that left this week from L301.

L302-28 @ 15:46 Rougemere Yard/Detroit job briefing with the RN Dispatcher: CSX engines #5381 + #5496(?) + #8199 & 52 cars (32 loads + 20 empties) @ 4,450 tons & 2,998 feet long. He’s building his train & has work for Lansing. Couldn't verify 2nd engine’s # & car count info from the scanner archives - info was cut off.

20:26 - G125-26 thru EE Brighton, 89 cars behind 3225 and 7027. 368 axles. Sounds like they will put the train into the siding at Beck Rd. as the crew who was to take it south got assigned to another train.

G125-26 @ 15:56 was contacted by the Dispatcher to get their bulletins activated & they are having issues with 1 of their engines & was asked if they could make it with 1 working engine (doubtful since their tonnage is 12,605). Couldn't hear the crew's side of the radio conversation - they were to call the Mechanical Dept.

Was that on Feb 14th, 2017? I was working with Amtrak then at we were at our Automatic (Intermediate) signal 1308 (about 7 miles north of Union Station, Wash. DC) where CSX passes over our tracks & we saw the Barnum & Bailey Circus Train on its final run. We had no idea that was going to be there - just happened to look up to watch a CSX train passing over our NEC Main Line tracks & waved to a couple of people standing at an open window on a car door. Our signals are attached to the CSX bridge & we would have to walk up a hill to the CSX track to get to our signals whenever a burnt out light bulb needed to be changed.

I wonder if you saw the other unit from what I had. I can't remember without digging up old photos if we had the Red or Blue unit from Charleston. But at any rate, it was early May, and they were headed for one final show after hand off to NS in Bluefield, WV.

This was C801-27 that had tied down in Grand Jct mp CG54 early this morning. He is headed to the power plant in West Olive, Mi.

R598-27 @ 17:35 eastward Holland, Mi Depot mp CG25.3 In about ½ mile he’ll diverge onto the west end of the Wye & onto the Fremont sub-division.
