Re: CSX Train Location Updates - May 2021
D705-16 had 102 cars when it went through Howell at 04:22 this morning. 32 stone loads on the head end, a bunch of scrap tie loads for GLC, then the usual fly ash cars that makes a long trip to Grand Rapids from Howell. Whatever D708 picks here goes, goes to Detroit from Lansing on D706 and then back towards GRP again on the next D705. Whatever trips their fancy but it makes it sound as if they have more cars than needs to be to impress somebody.

Q326-16 @ 13:24:11 eastward Bangor's Division St crossing mp CG60.93 with CSXT engine #775 & 127 cars & rear dpu CSXT #883. After spending nearly 2 1/2 hours inside of Gross Siding, Q326 advised Dispatch he may not have enough time to do his 28 car set offs at Waverly. Dispatch advised he will get back to them with the decision as to what they're to do.

As of 1:58pm, I haven't heard anything for D706, not even inside Grand Rapids to put his train together.

Re: CSX Train Location Updates - May 2021
You never know with CSX, lol. He may or may not run, there's no telling yet. It could be a crew isn't available (maybe one of them called out sick) & they're trying to get a full crew so that D706 can run. Or, for some unknown reason, the train was annulled, or, maybe the engines they were going to use has an issue & they were waiting for D705 to arrive with his engines (could be any reason). I'll definitely post anything I hear on the scanners & I check thru the scanner archives, too, in case there was something I may have missed. Maybe, someone else who is more in the know of what's going on will post something.PyrodronProd wrote: ↑Sun May 16, 2021 2:11 pmThat is really strange. Is that any indication that they won't be running today or that they're just going to be late?

Fair enough. I do appreciate the information you've been putting out. I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything on a scanner because I've been listening to myself and I really haven't heard anything about D706 yet.Tom49801 wrote: ↑Sun May 16, 2021 2:23 pmYou never know with CSX, lol. Bad mews for me too that D70616 has been annulled because I could not read the trailing unit number behind the reported 3064 leader when it went west Saturday morning with its stealth train crew. Same crew will probably bring 706 back in the middle of the night as well.

Forgive me, I have no idea of the symbol, but I just passed the (Genesee & Wyoming?) train sitting just north of Grant.

That would be southbound Marquette Z151 waiting for Monday morning’s run
