As reported in the Elkhart VR camera chat, CP528 departed West Toronto this morning westbound around 09:00 with CSXT 1869, the C&O heritage unit, in the consist. Not sure what timing looks like for Windsor/the Tunnel/customs and getting onto the Wabash.

Not sure of the Number but there’s a NS train heading east through Romulus with the Central Jersey HU trailing.

12:45-12:50: SB NS 272 passed through Wyandotte.

CP 2H92 coming from Windsor to west Detroit with CP 8112/CP 7052 light power to wye their power before heading back where they came from.

CP 230 is eb thru Adrian with a KCS grey ghost as DPU.

NS 51R dropped off another unit grain train in Adrian. ADBF is hard at work taking the train to Blissfield for loading.

09:31: Heard horns from a SB NS approaching Oak Street in Wyandotte from my house, symbol unknown (but I know it isn't 272, that's a very late morning departure).

NS 8126/NS 1070 (Wabash HU) both ff led a unit grain empty into ADM Ottawa Lake on Monday.

1070 led out, LHF and the train is currently parked on the campus of Univ of Toledo. NS 1070 is solo and headed to Airline to potentially spin the power. They built the train overnight/early this morning.

Ns 1070 is back from being spun, the train symbol is 54J and should be departing shortly from UT.

NS 1074 (Lackawanna Heritage Unit) is trailing on 11N, this is it’s first revenue run since getting fresh paint. Northwood, Ohio at 9:05

The NS heritage units getting new paint. Wow. Time flies. Will they all get new paint? Kind of surprised they didn't just become ubiquitous black NS when it was time for a paint refresh.

They are, the PRR is next for the paint shops. So far, the Reading Lines, Virginian, Southern and Lackawanna have gotten fresh paint and a complete overhaul.

The repaint program started right after East Palestine, Coincidence? I think not. Desperate PR boost? Probably.

Unless Ancora takes over and axes the repaint program (which will probably happen due to massive layoffs), all 20 will be getting fresh paint.

Oakwood happenings as of 7:15pm:

NS 1068 (Erie heritage unit) brought 120 into the yard at 5pm, cut the train at about mid-point, and shoved a long cut of 86ft boxcars onto the Dearborn sub for the NS OJ switcher to deal with later. It then pulled forward, dropped it’s cars and mid-dpu, hookedup to it’s mid dpu, then shoved onto the rest of his train. Then returned to Oakwood with the rest of his train around 6:45.

Note: NS 1068 is experiencing some sort of coolant issue, will probably go out DIT on NS 333 tomorrow per a friend.

NS 1628 is currently kicking some cars on the northern part of the yard, 1629 is currently taking apart 120’s train on the southern part of the yard.

OJ switcher just called Oakwood tower looking for permission to run to OJ with NS 1632.

Pretty impressive that all of the yard power currently working is all SD40-2 high hoods.
