Amtrak 351 just passed MP 22.5 on the Holly, about an hour and a half late leaving Pontiac this morning.

They're now 2.5 hours down, approaching Ypsi while #353 is on-time approaching Detroit.

350 just passed MP 22.5 on the Holly about an hour late. It had a Charger on both ends today.

Word from a source considered reliable and confirmed by an Amtrak conductor: Tomorrow, May23, #350/355 will consist of new Siemens Venture coaches for the first time in revenue service on Wolverine Corridor.

Sorry. Today's #350/355 did not have Venture cars. Maybe another day this week?

This morning 351 left Detroit 8 min LT and was 33 min LT leaving Dearborn. I heard on the radio feed the AML train director got a track foreman to release TK 2, from CP 9 to CP 18 at 6:45, but would not release 351 from Town Line until the agent at Dearborn station had been advised the train was coming in on 2. AML said he called a few times and the agent did not pick up, so he asked the train crew if they had a means of contact, which they did. After the train crew verified the agent had been notified, 351 was released and it arrived DEA at 7:15. I thought DEA had an island platform serving both tracks - why would this have been an issue?

Dearborn does not have an island, but a bridge to connect the station with track 2. Despite the flexibility of having a double track arrangement, Amtrak almost exclusively uses track 1, and a track 2 arrival would require passengers to climb the stairs or navigate two slooooow elevators (and maybe unlock a security gate?) to get over to the far track. No problem with advance notice, but it would take a while if everyone realized it at the same moment as the train was coasting onto the platform.

That is a CSX train symbol and movement by definition, please relocate to CSX thread

I will await for a ruling from ~Z~ and/or AARR & should they decide my Amtrak posts are better served in the CSX Thread where I had been posting all along, then, I shall be governed accordingly.
