GRE east thru Ada 12:54
The ballast cars are east somewhere. There is new ballast down west of Alpine and east toward Plainfield and Leonard. Not sure how much farther east.
WB over the Grand around 4:45p. 2 engines, 24 or so hoppers, one 4-bay in the middle, plus the empty ballast cars.

At 09:55 Z439 Grand Elk interchange entered Wyoming Yard behind the two geep 35s with 22 inbound cars: mostly boxcars with a few tankcars, several covered hoppers, and one empty centerbeam.

Several of the boxcars were the IARX weathered grey ones that go to the Atlantic Packaging in Sturgis on the MSO, so apparently that traffic comes to the Elk from CSXT.

You are correct, some of the cars that Elk gets comes from CSX. Another batch comes from the Elkhart Yard in Indiana, which interchanges with NS. Some of the IARX boxcars goes on L303 to Detroit too

GDLK gets cars from CSX in GR, CN in Kzoo, and NS in Elkhart. Also MSO in White Pigeon.

Around 9:00p, GRE was south of Lowell with their headlight on and pointed west. All I could see in the dark.
