CSX Train Location Updates - September 2023

M327-19 @ 04:52 Grand Rapids, Mi job briefing with the RN Dispatcher: CSX engines #294 + #3437 & 73 cars (17 loads + 56 empties) @ 3,993 tons & 4,153 feet long. He’s building his train at this time & will take it to Grandville mp CG6.0 to wait for Amtrak P371 to clear by.

I am wondering why 2 loaded coal trains were tied down west of Bangor instead of going to the usual sidings, Grand Junction mp CG54 & Wells mp CG41.3 east of Bangor & the CSX "Pushers" are tied down in Wells siding. Were both coal train crews short for on duty time, or, is this related to the upcoming work curfew between Gross mp CG63.1 & Benton Harbor? The MoW cars with the various machines & equipment for the tie replacement job are still tied down inside Gross Siding.

Both C801 and C800 were held up by Chicago congestion and did not make it beyond Kirk/Riverside due to a track curfew that went into effect at 2200. Tie gang will be working nights between Gross and Riverside, apparently.

Also, both trains had 3 units on them. C801 was 128 loads, C800 130. Extra 2 engines will be used to send out additional train set from West Olive.

R Job called for this morning will work to get at least one train to the plant and empties out.

He’ll get CSX engines #3243 + #759 when he meets R597-19 at Grand Jct mp CG54 that's traveling from West Olive, Mi. & add them behind his trailing engine. This was C800-18 that had tied down in Riverside mp CG80.2 early this morning.

R597-19 @ 17:44 copied their EC1 to depart the power plant in West Olive, Mi mp CGP 1.0 & head southward to the Grand Rapids sub-div in Holland, Mi with BNSF engine #9306 leading & 130? empty coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #8477(?) & CSX engines #759 + #3243. He’ll take Grand Junction siding mp CG54 & tie down. For his EC1 to depart West Olive, they had only changed the leader's number from his prior EC1 today. I don't know if he is returning with 2 or 3 BNSF engines.
