LansingRailfan! Is E295 a train for the Holly Subdivision? Or does this train go to Canada? Where is this train now (around 1:46 p.m.)? Cool FERROMEX®!!!!!LansingRailFan wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 8:45 am06:50 - FXE 4645 is 2/2 on an EB E295 thru Marcellus

A NB went past MP 22.5 of the Holly around 1 pm. Thought it was NB 515 as it was short.
116 past MP 22.5 at 1:50 pm.
NB 515 with 5423 went past around 2:13 pm. Don't know what the earlier train was. Thought it only had one locomotive on it.

That wrong direction 295 (not even train numbers make any sense any more) just passed MP 22.5 on the Holly.

Re: CN Train Location Updates - September 2023
Yeah, the "295" symbol doesn't make sense for an EB, but the 200-series number does. For as long as I can remember, 200-series trains on the GTW, and later CN, were autorack/autoparts trains. This train is basically another 280, but instead contains a different number, a "295" symbol - all racks for Flatrock I assume. The NS mainline through Elkhart has trains that do not follow the rules of even numbers are EB's and odd numbers are WBs - who knows why, although NS has their own system anyway - letters and numbers of course.
On a side note, I remember trains with no graffit, I mean NO graffiti! 1980s and 1990s. They were BEAUTIFUL, the only thing you would see is some weathered cars, some dirt and rust, but nothing else. People that do this should go straight to jail! Other people's (companies) property is THEIR property, not yours (not any of you guys of course, I'm talking to the people that do this). If you want to go ruin something, go do it at home, don't do it on railcars, don't do it on city blocks and buildings, don't do it under bridges, don't do it anywhere, it makes our world dirty (and, no, its not art, its wrong and illegal)! Nobody (seemingly) teaches their kids right from wrong anymore. Sorry, but this is a real pet peeve of mine.

E295 71 originated on the old Illinois Central, which is a northbound down there.
Re: CN Train Location Updates - September 2023
L507 is at Moterm in Ferndale, Michigan with CN 8803, 2668, and 2919.
They are going to depart after Amtrak 355 gets by.

The counterpart to this train is E294. This train is empty tri-levels, most likely being stored in Flat Rock. E29491 goes to the Nissan plant in Canton, Miss.Manistique wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 3:05 pmThat wrong direction 295 (not even train numbers make any sense any more) just passed MP 22.5 on the Holly.

22:36 - EB with 8836? + 2269 thru East Lansing, came out of Snow with racks on the front and manifest behind that. Short train.
23:26 - Passed Durand and lined into Flint Yard.
01:30 - Westbound unit potash with 3805 + 3814 on the head end. 197 cars per the DD at 219.5. Was worth the wait with 3291 as rear DPU.
02:09 - Z148 east by MP 205, potash train holding at Potterville, their tail end hanging east of the crossovers at Maple. Z148 will take M2 at Mill.
