They had 3-4 tanks for Amway and 2 center beams for the C&M this morning. Plus 4 CH's in the yard.MQT1223 wrote:The 3885 is in the Amway complex.

10:30 MMRR 2057, MMRR 2019 south at Getty street in Muskegon. 3 Boxcars for bay (3 in 1 out) 2 sandies, and 5 tanks! 8 total for Holland. South at the bridge at 11:15
Re: Michigan Shortlines July 2015
I've been told by several good sources that Bayer gets far more tank cars than I thought.

Re: Michigan Shortlines July 2015
MMRR 2057, MMRR 2019 back in Muskegon around 3:00. I stumbled upon them at Sherman spotting the inbound cut for Webb on the manahan belt spur around 3:30. I didn't get a car count, but aside from the cut for Webb, they had 1 other tank and a cut of 8 to 10 sandies.
Maybe that tank was a Bayer load. I'm bad at guessing games but it did have a spacer car, which brinks loads don't usually have (based on observation, correct me if I'm wrong)

Brinks for the most part gets liquid nitrogen. Just fertilizer, no need for spacers. If the other stuff has PLACARDS then its nasty to some degree, needs spacers. If it has a SKULL AND CROSSBONES then its REALLY NASTY!
Used to get some fascinating stuff out of Hooker in Whitehall. Chlorine and other goodies. Creepy place to switch. Sorta like switching Bergen-Belsen while running the Berlin to Dachau local for German National Rwy Deutshland Reichsbahn...back in the days... or something. Wash your boots OUTSIDE when you get home!

A bit late, but GLC was in Traverse City on Tuesday. Betting that box car is for TC also, so thinking a second trip to TC this week.

GLC in Cadillac today:
Heard them head north around 1000. Drove out to the north end of town a bit after 1800 and caught 395 returning with 1 empty centerbeam and 4 lp tanks. Currently spotted behind Family Video. 398 was spotted at the engine house.

Per my wife yesterday after 1pm she saw "2 blue and white trains pulling a trailer and a load of white tarped stuff" along. Woodmere in TC. To us, I think that's a box car and a center beam lumber load. Lol. So that's Tuesday and Thursday for trains in TC. The box was left at Amerihart.Pixl wrote:I went by Amerhart in Williamsburg today about 1400, no rail cars spoted there.TC Man wrote:A bit late, but GLC was in Traverse City on Tuesday. 11:18 update. There is a Rail Box boxcar being unloaded now. Yard guy says GLC may come get today as otherwise GLC has to pay extra for the car??
Also mentioned they're averaging 3 loads per week with no slowdown in sight.
Finally, rails are shiny to Williamsburg. Must not be doing the gravity switching recently.
