NS Derailment, Pittsburgh, PA

For the third time in two months, NS had another derailment in Pittsburgh, PA.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it kind of a bad idea to put VERY light empty cars next to loaded cars? To me the gons look empty and coils are loaded (I think) because they've got the shields on them.

Regardless, skill issue on NS' part.

empty cars would have the covers on also. there are gon loads that max out well below the top.

An extremely bad idea that if NS bothered to install a computer system that checked a proposed train against their makeup rules would stop happening. BNSF has such as a system and as a result you dont see stringline derailments all that often.
