Refresh my memory, but didn't amtrak have a derailment awhile ago where an NEC train hit like a backhoe or something like that?AARR wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 3:24 pmPassenger train derails after hitting construction crane in Netherlands, killing 1 and injuring dozens

The number of contractors, utilities and adjacent landowners that'll try doing stuff that can threaten trains is mind-boggling. Why call the railroad to setup flagging when you're an idiot, or you simply don't care?AARR wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 3:24 pmPassenger train derails after hitting construction crane in Netherlands, killing 1 and injuring dozens

Yes, the two collisions are very similar. Multi track area. Maintenance being performed on track adjacent to active track. Equipment ended up on the still active track.David Collins wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 6:10 pmRefresh my memory, but didn't amtrak have a derailment awhile ago where an NEC train hit like a backhoe or something like that?
