Bald Face GEVO by

I thought originally it would be NS 4003, just because it was lacking the white stripe and it had a 3rd Gen Nathan K5HL horn. Contrary to my thinking it was actually NS ET44AC #3625 leading a very weird 24Z with some manifest loads in tow.
I shot this picture in Millbury, Ohio sometime in August of 2020. The exact date will show up on the date taken on the post. I actually put it in the rejects folder of my computer by accident and I just came across it.

I think you're kinda missing the point of this thread. It's to show photos that you have just recently uploaded to the internet somewhere and cross-post them here, not to show photos that you posted on Flickr last year. SD80Mac is trying to encourage folk to work on their photo backlogs if they have them, and get their work processed and out there to show others.
Just a small side note: Uploading is typically transferring files from one computer to another. When you take your photo from your PC and post on Flickr, that's uploading it. Linking the Flickr post over here on railroadfan.com is cross-posting.

It was a good run - impressive to see how much content you were able to edit and get through.

I've been scanning old prints of Amtrak F40s recently. Here's a goodie - February 17, 1998, at the twilight of the F40 as king on the San Diegan, soon to be Pacific Surfliner route. The trains ran push pull on this route much like in Michigan, using ex Metroliner cab cars, Horizon and Amfleet I coaches, Heritage Baggage cars, and the ubiquitous F40 proving the muscle. Here, "Operation Lifesaver" decalled #231 gets ready to shove south at Fullerton, CA. This feels appropriate since today is Amtrak's 51st official birthday!

Yes, it's that one F40 that's in SP daylight colors (Dyna-Rail?)

Old School Tri-Rail by
Jonathon Leese, on Flickr
Shooting the SunRail last week reminded me that it wasn't the first time I had ever shot commuter rail in Florida. Here a Tri-Rail north-bound is seen leaving the West Palm Beach station, being shoved by one of the agency's distinctive F40PHL-2s. These units were basically a poor man's F40, cobbled together by MKM from ex Conrail GP40s and ex BN F45s. I believe they have all since been retired. 4/5/2009

Canadian Refugees by
Jonathon Leese, on Flickr
This pair of former Rail Link (originally CN) Bombardier HR412s were parked outside of the Marquette Rail engine house in Manistee during a visit in July of 2007. These units were sent up there by a friend of the then MQT CMO to get running, but they were never worked on while on the MQT. Eventually they left, not sure if they still exist or have since been scrapped. The successor to the MLW M420, the HR412s were an extremely short-lived locomotive model produced by Bombardier after they purchased MLW. Though the HR stood for “Highly Reliable”, they were anything but. 6/15/2007
