Perhaps a mistake, but maybe not, but 480 is showing as 7380, not 7280.
Late to this, but there's a batch of CW44ACs from roughly 465-485 (don't remember the exact #'s) that are dual-equipped with ACSES PTC and have cutouts in the pilot to clear third rail. 480 is likely one of those, and likely why it was renumbered to a different series.

I believe those CW44ACs are based out of Selkirk and are used for trains that enter Metro-North and MBTA territory, so the trains that operate into New York City and that go east of Worcester, MA (including M426/M427 that go up to Maine, as that train traverses some MBTA trackage that use ACSES for PTC).

480 is part of these locomotives, so it makes sense why it would be in a different number series, but eventually the 7200 series will make it to 7300 as there are hundreds of locomotives which are in that series of AC44s. It is possible that all the AC44s with ACSES will be grouped together in the upper 7300 series with 7380, but it is also possible that this was just a mistake on CSX and it is actually supposed to be 7280, since it does follow 7279.

CSXT CM44AC 7005 & CSXT CW44AH 536? are currently out of service following a major derailment in Sandstone, WV.

Both Motors have suffered severe damage

Edit: It appears that an ES44 Type unit was also involved with less damage than the leading motors

Yes the second unit is CSX 536. 536 is Done for the unit is BBR(Burnt Beyond Recognition). The Crew is injured two have serious injuries and one has minor. CSX 7005 could possibly be scrapped.

ES44AH 3021 was trailing third, but it appears to be not as damages as the other two, and will likely be repaired

Is there a list of CSX locomotives with ACSES PTC installed for operations over trackage owned by northeastern passenger railroads? I know CW44AC from roughly ~465-485 have them installed, along with some 6200-series GP40-2 and 8800-series SD40-2, but turns out SD40E3 #1712 also has ACSES and made a visit up to Maine leading M426 earlier this week.

A 4th unit was also involved in the Sandstone Falls West Virginia mishap. Behind 7005, 536 & 3021 was 312.

Some interesting updates from the Erie test track:

CSX 1726 (SD23T4) undergoing testing under load: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD8mmh22cik (The sound reminds me of a U18B.)

CSX 7275 & 7278 undergoing locked axle testing (along with 7227 that is back at Erie for tests): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7Gh0KsQCpg

CSX 7278 undergoing testing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ce1DbRefdqA (Not shown, but a caption in the video says that 7277 is still at Erie and not released yet.)

SD23T4s 1720 and 1724 were spotted finished in YN3C paint at Huntington yesterday. They will likely be shipped to Erie soon just like 1726 was.

It was only a matter of time. 3415 (Georgia Road) is most likely next.

These are rumors, but CSX is reportedly starting work on an EXTENSIVE heritage fleet, if all goes according to plan, there should be 25 units, road names supposedly being painted are:

B&O
GARR
B&M
RF&P
NC&STL
AWP
Monon
L&N
WM
NYC
C&O
Katy (I thought this was a UP thing)
ACL
PL&E
C&EI
PM
SAL
Clinchfield
P&NR
SCL
Penn Central
SBD family
Chessie System
CR
PAR (Pan Am Railways)

I've also been told that the units will be numbered after the years the respective railroad was founded (Example: B&O, if this happens, will be CSXT 1827)
