Question for clarification. Are there’s 2 different class rebuilt CW44ac like 7000+ as CM44AC and 7200+ as CM44AH ? Diesel shop has those 2 rebuilt CW44AC classes as 7000+ CM44AC and 7200+ as CM44AH . Not if they classify all as CM44AC. Please let me know.

There is one difference which is the standard 7000 series have standard High Adhesion trucks and the 7200 series have steerable trucks.

that would be a visable difference, my question would be, do the 7200's weigh more than the 7000's thus making them considered "heavies" as some of the AC4400CW's were AC44AH's

They do not weigh more, the only difference between the two is the bogeys are different

The Heavies do weigh more than regular AC4400s, that’s one of the reasons they are classified as heavies. Aren’t you supposed to know a thing or two about trains?

No what I mean is that between the two there's no weight difference, the bogeys are different iirc

7257 mentioned previously is ex 381 and is coming into Michigan on Q326 today. 😁 It has standard YN3 paint. No boxcar, no website. Just lots of clear coat!

Does anyone have a summary of the work done to CSX 1&2 in addition to the lengthening when they were rebuilt a couple years ago? Is there a reason two of the F40s received that treatment but not all four?
