UP 6936: Franklin Park Railroad Daze

Unread post by EJ&ESDM809 »

UP 6936 is currently on the move east towards the Chicago area. It is currently scheduled to arrive Global 3 at 3:30PM on the 29th. 6936 is expected to be on display in Franklin Park for Railroad Daze on Saturday, June 5th. This is a good opportunity to get up close and personal with 6936!

Sweet! I am going to attend "F P R D" for the 1st time ever! The only time that I've seen a DDA40X up close was at St. Louis Trans. Museum 5-2005!

Hey EJ&ESDM809, how did you find the info? Has 6936 been to "F P R D" before? I know that you are in the "CHI TOWN" area, just wondering these questions. I can't wait 9 DAZE!
:D

Here's the article to end any doubts of 6936 going to Railroad Daze, it's for sure official now! http://www.pioneerlocal.com/franklinpar ... s1.article

6936 has never attended Railroad Daze before and I doubt it will again for a long time. UP has sent a heritage unit each year since 2006 and in 2007 they also sent the A-B-A E9s. UP generally sends one of their rarest units to this event, so this year it was 6936's turn.

Rochelle Railroad Daze is the same weekend, and UP is expected to send 2010, the Boy Scout unit, and 1988, the MKT heritage unit.
