Apparently, CSX is rushing the flared radiator MAC’s out of rebuild, two of them left Huntington with some parts of the locomotives in primer paint, with the rest of the engine still the original YN3 and YN3b.
Four more Flared Radiator SD70MAC rebuilds have been released from Huntington. Those are 4704, 4748, 4753 and 4766. 4748 has been repainted into the YN3C paint scheme. 4704, 4753 and 4766 were not repainted. 4704 and 4753 are still in YN3, and 4766 is still in YN3B. All 3 of the units that were not repainted have been moved to Waycross, and the speculation is that they will be getting heritage paint schemes. As of now, not much is known on what will actually happen to them, but getting heritage paint seems like the most likely outcome at the moment.
Two more flared SD70MAC rebuilds have released. 4714 got a repaint into YN3C and went on C547-28. 4730 was released without a repaint, still in YN3, and is headed to Waycross on M693 presumably for repaint into a new heritage scheme or YN3C.

Why?
It’s probably bc of the fact that all the current HUs are Gevos and they’re the most modern locomotives on the roster “alongside” the rebuilds. But then again since everyone knows pretty much all of the HUs we have so far are Gevos, CSX could surprise us and slap a fade and flashy rear paint job on a MACe when we least expect it. That’s my guess. Apologies if I went off topic while trying to answer your question.
