I wonder if the Hamilton Northwestern transload will be located on the north side of the Rabbit River trestle in Hamilton?

I was thinking it could be next to the Fillmore Rd. crossing.

Grand elk south through Byron Center at 5:31pm. Wamx 4124, 4125, 4017 and 14 cars. Tank cars, then covered hoppers and a pair of open NS gons. Thanks for the update. Now I don’t have to wait 2 plus hours for the Grand Elk to run southbound through Wyoming They made it to Plainwell about 7:20 PM.

GDLK 4125 and friend were in Plainwell at 6:13 p.m.. they appear to be heading northbound. No idea about the consist. They apparently were recently returned from Otsego and were crossing M89 to get the train and head north. How long will they arrive to GR? Others may know better, but I would guess ...

At 6:35PM the Elk switch at M-89 was set for Otsego. Must be they didn't switch Otsego on the northerly leg. I could see the train minus the power sitting to the north of the crossing. I could only hear one side of the radio traffic, so I suspect they were switching in Otsego.

The Elk was just approaching Plainwell from the north a bit before 8:00 PM. I know they needed to pick up the Otsego boxcars before proceeding.

At 6:20PM they were in Plainwell. I saw 4125 and couldn't see the other number. It looked like they were about to head toward Otsego.

STB records seem to indicate that the STB gave approval om 7/11/22.

IIRC when it was PRR, there was a signal just north of Miller Rd, north of Plainwell. The concrete that it sat on is visible from Miller Rd. It may have had to do with the PRR/NYC diamond that used to be in Plainwell, but I'm not sure.

Awoke at 4:15AM to nature's call. I heard the Elk EOT in Plainwell on the radio. Still there at 5:45 when I got out of the shower. Seems to be gone now.

Must be I missed them.

About 11:30 AM as I was heading getting on 131 in Kalamazoo, I heard the Elk calling AML dispatch for permission to cross the AML. They were leaving Botsford (that's what they called it) and were going to head north on the BO Secondary. We're going to lunch t the Old MIll so maybe we'll see them. Ed...

Elk left Plainwell SB at 7:44 and I heard them blowing for Riverview Drive at 7:48. Didn't see them, though.

Probably for the paper mill in Otsego.

I will try to keep an eye out for them.
