Re: Senate Bill may Delay Implementation of PTC!

Yes, the wreck @ Suman wouldve been prevented with PTC, but also with the Quebec system. The quebec system is cheaper, less intricate, and does more or less the same thing.

Re: Senate Bill may Delay Implementation of PTC!

I should prbably know this but it's only class ones right? Regionals like GLC and AA and others will not have to get PTC? nope, anyone who has hazardous materials or passenger carried. I think volume also helps to determine it. However, several shortlines have gotten exemptions becuase of their siz...

Re: Railroads Benefit from Veoted Keystone XL Piepline

Re: Railroads Benefit from Veoted Keystone XL Piepline

For a kid who can't drive, and your obsession with oil prices, this much should tick you off: "Experts estimate shipping by rail instead of pipeline adds anywhere from $5 to $10 to the price of a barrel, not to mention the high-capacity, 24-7 flow a pipeline affords." Good for the railroads...not g...

Re: Chevy Volt Production Shutdown

People will drive whatever suits their needs. Some people in govt want to put in regs (gas milage wise) that in turn mean some types of vehiacles (mainly trucks and SUVs) will cease to exsist at all, and when people in this nation can't choose, they tend to get angry. The reason why your neighor ma...

Re: Michigan Paper Railroads

Ok so I'm probably going to add my T&PRR to the mix, I own the real life existing line from Petoskey to Traverse City, assuming no one else has it. I'll get a map out soon hopefully. And now that I'm in the group, MQT3001 I need your TYBY RS1 from C&M! (yeah I know you said ok already) :) Okay, it ...

Senate Bill may Delay Implementation of PTC!

yippie! WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate has passed a two-year, $109 billion surface transportation authorization that essentially continues current funding levels for another two years. Among the provisions is an extension of the deadline requiring railroads to install positive train control on key rou...
