Re: Toledo Lake Erie & Western Railway and Museum

Hearing conflicting reports on the status of the TLEW/Midwest lease.

As for the Waterville segment, I haven't heard anything about Midwest or NS working to break the lease there, and as far as I know, Midwest is still in business.

Re: Willard railfan platform?

A CSX Willard yard ex rail employee told me the Millertown Crossover is down by the Willard Locomotive shop somewhere. It is the hand throw crossover between #2 (I think that is #2 right there) and the yard right there by that old building foundation. Pratice Safe CSX Yes, it is the crossover just ...

Re: UP 6936 put in freight service

Or it was just run through stuff which is totally normal. I saw a ton of UP power at Chesterton last Friday...if UP needs power maybe they should ask NS!! Probably paying off horsepower hours. I think both western class 1s owe NS (and probably CSX) a lot of horsepower-hours for this winter. ..and h...

Re: Locomotive with Dual Control Stands

I have been wondering about this topic for a while. What is the cab set up for locomotives with dual control stands? Are there two sets of controls or is it some other configuration? As I would imagine it there would have to be, as the name implies, two control stands on opposite sides of the cab. ...

Re: Telegraph insulators

B&O Toledo Sub had the high voltage lines carried on white ceramic insulators. The former C&O Columbus Sub carried the high voltage on black insulators. Not sure of the composition. They were both consistently on the bottom crossarm, farthest from the track.

Re: Toledo Lake Erie & Western Railway and Museum

Does the museum own the roadbed up to Henry Wood County Line Rd? No. End of track was MP 25, about 600 ft west of Saylor/Pratt Ln. A few sections of rail were pulled out for use elsewhere back in the late 80s, and the neighbors decided to "reclaim" the land since it was not being used for a railroa...

I don't think so, because I've come down there several times recently and not seen any headlights for a while.
