GRAND Elk went by the Elkhart cam towards the Elkhart yard at 10:35am with WAMX 4189 and WAMX 4209 leading 28 cars. A mix of box cars, tank cars, covered hoppers, two empty High Top NS hoppers and an empty center beam car.

Heads up to Andy, Tank, JT and Z, I can hear the horn from the Elk and I believe it’s heading north through Plainwell at 11:58am.

Grand Elk just sent by the Elkhart cam at 7:56 am back towards Kalamazoo with WAMX 4225 and WAMX 4206 leading 17 cars. A mix of box cars, covered hoppers, tank cars, three loaded High Top NS hopper cars and a loaded center beam.

Grand Elk just went by the Elkhart cam at 10:07am heading back to Kalamazoo with WAMX 4209 and WAMX 4206 leading 19 cars. A mix of box cars, covered hoppers, tank cars and a loaded center beam.

Grand Elk back towards Kalamazoo at 11:00am with WAMX 4225 and WAMX 4189 leading 35 cars. A mix of box cars, covered hoppers, tank cars and a covered steel coil car.

Grand Elk just went back by the Elkhart cam on its way to Kalamazoo with WAMX 4225 and WAMX 4189 leading 28 cars. A mix of tank cars and box cars. All of the tank cars were sandwiched between two strings of box cars.

Yup, you beat me to it Andy. 22 cars and I believe that the green open hopper was an Amtrak ballast car.

This mornings Grand Elk going southbound towards Elkhart hit a vehicle at the corner of Centre and Shaver Rd. There is a video in the news link below.

Just a heads up to Andy, J T, Tank and Z, I was just standing outside and could hear the horn of the Elk around the Plainwell area. I am guessing that it’s making its way up to GR.

I can hear the horn from my house so I don’t have a visual. Please post here every time you hear a horn for a northbound train...
