I'm surprised nobody mentioned G780. He was eastbound by Trowbridge at about 2:00 with three units (CSX 5298, 8312? and 8603) and a MONSTER train. They met Q335 at Fowlerville.

Nintendo Wii. :) I'm not one for video games, but the way Wii works is something I truly appreciate.

Here's a shot of 355 in Jackson a few nights ago. http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs157.snc3/18445_385415315314_740120314_10404108_7549505_n.jpg As Nathan mentioned, 350 and 355 usually get Superliners during the colder months of the year, while 351-354 retain their horizon coaches. Re: GTW/CN Santa Train

Doesn't matter what's already on, just wait a week or two and upload all yours to avoid the "repetition" issue... I've tried that before...it doesn't always work when conditions are adverse like they are today. It's funny, Aaron and I were discussing this at Bellevue - the screeners seem to be a li...

Re: GTW/CN Santa Train

Well, guess I'm not getting any of mine into RP this year, unless they take the one I took at Gaines. You guys were fast!
I caught them at Gaines, East Lansing and Charlotte on my own, and I was with Jim and Aaron for Bellevue and Battle Creek.

Re: CN yards west of Durand

CN has been outfitting some Dash-9s, along with most of the original SD70M-2 fleet, for DPU operations over the past six months. Units setup for DPU use are distinguishable by marker lights, which on newer units are being placed just above the left ditchlight. I'm hearing the SD60Fs are due to be re...

Re: NS updates 11/29/09-12/05/09

No shots of NS up here as I haven't been able to catch them during the daylight recently. And as for my bringing this, now several week old, thread up, I have a bit of interesting info about that 29N... that 29N came off the CN at Battle Creek. NS 5268, 7144, 7 parts cars, and the rest auto racks. H...

Re: CN yards west of Durand

Cory Yard was built recently to serve the GM plants. There is also the yard around Snow Road in Lansing. That seems to be the staging point for Lansing Board of Light coal trains mostly now, but I know someone else can provide more information than I can. I'm not totally sure on the official title ...

Per JT, Q326 is at Grand Ledge with CSXT 338(?) and 7517. They are waiting on a maintainer to finish fixing a broken rail in the Cash Block, currently. D708 was also switching at Lowes.

Re: CN Updates 12/13/09-12/19/09

Those along the Flint sub should be advised to look or listen for the Santa train today. It was (possibly still is) sitting in Battle Creek yard this morning. Both IC E-units and three passenger cars.

Re: GTW/CN Santa Train

Per Steven, riding on Amtrak 365 this morning, the Santa train was sitting in the yard at Battle Creek this morning at about 9:20am. The consist is the same as it has been in Previous years: both IC E9s and three passenger cars (two IC coaches and one CN business car). The engines looked to be fired...

Re: NS Updates 12/13/09-12/19/09

Got a nice birthday surprise while having dinner at Clara's in Lansing earlier tonight (err, the 14th). NS B28? or B30 (Z646 on CSX) headed south from Lansing around 9 PM. NS 7111 led the train, followed by 3058, one empty flat car, a 50' Southern box car and an empty centerbeam. I'm guessing the ce...

I'm not much of a vertical fan either, but I have to say it works really well here. The trees in the background are what really give it the kick.
Nice job Steven. I'd like to see what they kicked away too. Probably still just as good.

Re: Charlotte and Southern Visitors...Aug 5, 2009

Actually, the afternoon run was a special Santa train. Left the depot at 12:30 and then got back about two hours later. I "chased" them from Oliver Street to Henry Street and took a few photos. Kind of boring, but still fun, especially since I hadn't seen any movements myself for over a year.
