Most of the box car heritages can probably be figured out. I recall some GTW 8-door 86' hi-cube box cars in the pool.

I don't think I've ever seen freight cars being hauled on a welded rail train.
Maybe they thought 4 covered hoppers were needed to prevent headaches.

It's interesting that the dome car has no lettering. Seems like a recent paint job was done. While dome cars apparently needed their own powerplant to operate the AC due to all that glass... I think those power plants were somewhat smaller than what Peaker normally worked on. Plus it would be someth...

I thought ITCS was intended as an overlay. The current signaling system remained and if ITCS was down the current signal system rules would apply. The point of ITCS back then was to get higher speeds without having to upgrade the current signal system and using expensive physical upgrades. Yes, none...

I've seen Saturnalia's overhead video's of the ore loads and it seems like those cars are only 50-75% filled. The ore must be very dense/heavy. Which is why there are ore jennies. Make a car with only the volume to hold the weight. Accidently fill one of those hopper cars to the volume limit with o...
