You may want to check with the local folks. On Google Earth it does not look like the Oregon Branch gets much if any use, except very close to the yard. Its a loner trip, but Savanna may be more fruitful if you want lots of train action.

You might think about the Oregon Depot Museum. Its on the BNSF west of Rochelle. They're only normally open on Saturdays, but maybe a volunteer would be willing to come in for a couple railfans. Since I made one of the posts I wondered that myself.

The GDLK Otsego cars were still sitting in Plainwell this morning.

Looks like the Elk never came back south. There is quite a cut of boxcars from Otsego waiting in Plainwell. I was counting through the trees so I might be off a bit, but I thought I counted eleven on the Otsego line. Eleven is about double the usual number.
