Re: NS Peavine talk
Well my buddy Heypal which most of you know on this thread received a cool Christmas gift from a unknown person last week. He came home from work and had a gift on this front porch wrapped in Christmas paper. So he took it in the house. He said it was six feet high felt like a door of some kind and ...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Big Bob think the new power is sitting on the sidelines as it needs some work before it can be put into service. That is what I heard this past week. Not the best paint job but it does stand out I must say. Plenty of cars were on the siding east of Clare Yard this week for sure the line is much busi...

Re: NS Peavine talk
It will be interesting when the movement of stone comes east and the new business opens in 2022 that is going to need a four to five days movement of freight cars east and west plus the Ag and other business and storage on the peavine will the CCET use the rails in Clare Yard? I just see they will n...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Not sure if the CCET wants to get much capital from these old engines but they need some power motors to move heavy stone. They don't have the money to invest in new equipment so they go for older outdated. The CCET is going to start pulling plenty of stone going west from the 76 mile mark they need...

Re: NS Peavine talk
I just received an email on the new power for CCET seen above. AS far as i know the new power is not in service yet. I haven't seen it down here at Clare Yard or on the siding in recent weeks. Maybe it needs some work before they send it out for service . I think the NS crew said it came all the way...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Thanks Heypal for the info. I bet you might be busy during there interesting times. I find this site rather interesting. Today with the snow and cold I have been reading many post on here. The two most popular post as far as people viewing the post is the Napoleon, Defiance and Western post the this...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Got it. Not sure what the CCET cash flow is right now. They picked up two powers this year one still isn't in service yet. With more business on the line and movement of stone they need more power for sure. I would be sure used power is expensive even the old ones. Again not sure what the cash flow ...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Big Bob I don't think the CCET wants to put powers that are not being used on the sidings. Most of the time the sidings are pretty full with tankers, spines, and box cars of late. Most of there sidings are out east away in remote areas. Powers could get damaged, spray painted or worse. Don't think t...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Spine Cars than you now I know. That you yes Winchester AG Service is a grain company out east of Cincinnati. For a small line with not much rail business in the past the CCET needed revenue and rail car storage delivers revenue to pay for staff and equipment. Most of the siding at one time or anoth...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Plenty going on with this line now. Top management must have some great connections. For a year or so all they had in storage from what comes down to Clare Yard is empty tankers. Now they have box cars, tankers, trailer haulers that haul semi are being stored on the line now. Not exactly know what t...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Jaw Tooth has many followers in the rail spectrum. He is a railfan who really has filmed more CCET movement from Clare to the 76 mile post than anyone. If the owners of the CCET were smart they would use his video to promote the company. I have spoken to the CCET crew a few times not a very friendly...

Re: NS Peavine talk
No not random. We talked earlier that day and then I went down under the bridge to fish. They came down and we talked for 20 minutes or so. Good guys they are the usual crew that comes a few times a week to either drop off cars or haul full cars back to Sharon Yard. I don't think the CCET crew is th...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Walking the dog today down at Clare Yard even did some fishing. Great Weather in November 72 down here today. Talked the NW crew today who was doing some work in the yard. They came down to my fishing spot. We talked about the Purina deal. They said in two more years Purina is going to make the CCET...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Yes the property has been purchased and it has been confirmed by many news sources. Purnia owns the property and they are ready to break ground soon. Midland Sub is correct. I don't see any press on the contrary that this project is not going forward. It has been in the works for over for several mo...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Yes it appears from what I'm hearing that the NS is glad that Clermont County has landed this deal with Purina. This has been in the works for several months. They were looking at another sight but there was not rail line close to the property. Here the Peavine is right there and the CCET can put in...

Re: NS Peavine talk
The Peavine will be receiving a new customer in the next two years as Nestle Purina Pet Care is going to construct a 550 million dollar state of the art pet food plant in Clermont County. The plant will be ready to go in 2023 and looking to hire 300 positions. The CCET will be pretty busy when this ...

Re: NS Peavine talk
The Peavine is really busy this summer. NS bringing many rock cars tankers, flat cars down to Clare Yard weekly. New Transloading development is starting to take shape in Newtown. This will be a rather busy little rail line here in the next few month plus the Ag will be getting busy as well with gra...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Wow it did work I'm impressed! Yeah I agree that power is not the best looking and the cost to put a paint job on it would cost several thousand bucks. Can't see the CCET painting any engine in the near term. That thing has plenty of rust on it I guess that is what the brown stuff on the top is but ...
