Re: Something with East Columbus Terminal Railway
I agree this guy knows there is money in car storage and he wants to get his mile track ready for service. Another video is on YOU TUBE today 2/15. I wish him well both he and his son are really going at it full blast buy used equipment getting it running to put new ties in and get the rail up to sp...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Since our President has stopped the pipeline most likely oil tank storage will be a thing of the past. Tankers will be put back in service here soon as more oil will be shipped by tankers on the rails. There was a pretty interesting article today on the internet.

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
Just saw the lastest on the East Terminal video on You Tube. Rather interesting as he had a map of all the railroads in Ohio and showed the one that he owns on the map. Check it out.

Re: NS Peavine talk
I'm sure the Peavine will be very busy in the next ten years and storage is not going away. I bet they do open the line out more to the east and may need to get that Rarden siding as long as the tracks are in good shape. I'm sure the CCET doesn't want to spend a ton of money fixing and replacing tie...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
After he and his son get all the trees out of the way the next big project is replacing the ties which is going to be a real task. Then getting the rails to all line up. I will give it to the guy both of them are really trying to make this happen two guys who one a railroad track not a short rail co...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
Great question why not a gas operated chainsaw a powerful one at that? Takes seconds to get these small trees knocked down with a gasoline chainsaw. If he is going to buy all of this equipment for thousands of buys might as well spend a few more bucks and get a good chainsaw. Maybe he wants to prote...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
Interesting video watched it last night. So it appears he is going to store cars here and the G&W is going to pick them up and deliver them. First he is going to do plenty of work on the rails as G&W made some suggestions and comments but it looks as he does have a plan and moving forward.

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
The CCET here in Cincinnati running on the Peavine stores hundreds of cars tankers being the favorite yet in recent months they are storing other cars as well. They have plenty of siding to store cars and it is a major revenue maker for them doing slow times. If this guy only has up to 3/4 of a mile...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
Thanks Dave that clears that up. I just don't understand where they are going to make any money on this short track. Only one customer there and G&W services them. Not sure where they intend to get another customer unless someone is hauling stone gravel rock maybe will park a few cars on their track...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
Dave it appears where he is digging the ditch is near the pond or retention pond not sure which it is. From Google earth if looks like a pond but either way when that pond fills up the water must run by the tracks. He has his equipment fairly far from the tracks which I would think infringes on the ...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
Interesting video yesterday on the new one mile railroad doing ditch clearing to move water. I thought it was kind of strange that they are off the tracks with large equipment digging. Wonder how much of the property they own? Thought it was only the tracks the guy bought. Now he is trying to divert...

Re: NS Peavine talk
NS has brought over 90 cars for storage to the CCET siding at Clare Yard last week. All have been moved this past week up east. This is the most mixed car drop off I have seen other than tankers. Looks like concrete hoppers for the most part and some tankers. At one point all the siding down at Clar...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
I have been looking at this track from Google Earth. It appears to be only one customer on the line and most likely G&W does their service. Not sure where he is going to get additional business unless he is going to do car storage. He only has one mile at the most. Surely he has a game plan in progr...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
Jim that would really rock the boat. I know a guy who lives next to the tracks here in Cincinnati and a nice residential neighborhood how loves trains and he gets to see a few a day from his house. IN the back of his house he stores whistles train whistles from as far back as 100 years ago. He is a ...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
The guy has something up his sleeve. He is talking transloading and having a customer yet he only has one mile or less of track. Then I think he is talking about adding more track in the future. Now he is talking about getting an engine which is going to be some bucks. Since that line has not been u...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
Yes I have been watching it as well. I would say Dayton as they were going to an auction in Springfield so Ohio for sure. Don't think it is the CCET but think an old CSX or NS track that didn't service anyone for a few years. The tracks we not in very good shape trees growing in the middle of the tr...
