Approach aspect at Belsay for a westbound

An empty coal train was sitting in Flint as of 11:00, waiting for a new crew. Not sure if it's gone south yet.

It was probably headed for Cleveland. I have heard that Zug Island ships coke to the former Arcelor-Mittal steel mill down there.

D711 is getting ready to depart Flint for Port Huron. They have to wait for Z127 to head south, which should be pretty soon.

Northbound Z388 cleared Holly a few minutes ago. Z127 should head south after they clear Flint

LSRC Z127 is ready to depart Flint southbound. They're waiting for a coal train to clear Flint. Not sure where the coal train is.

As of about an hour ago, there was an empty coal train sitting on the main at McGrew in Flint. I'm not sure if it's gone south since then.

When was the branch to the St. Mary's Cement plant in Charlevoix abandoned? I was surpised to see that Google Maps still shows a rail line going into the plant on the default map.

That makes sense. I wasn't sure if Delta Tube was even an active customer anymore, so I didn't consider it a possibility.

Figured I'd start a new thread since this doesn't have anything to do with the autorack loading at Buick City. Someone posted photos on Facebook last night of Y101 with empty frame flats. I wonder who the new customer is?

Green signal for southbound Z127 at the Holly diamond

Northbound Z127 this morning had 72 autoracks on it. We might see unit rack trains in the future if this keeps up.

How busy is Mershon in Saginaw these days? I know of someone who saw 3 trains in 15 minutes there, but I'm assuming that's a rare occurrence.

Advanced approach at East Flint for a westbound

I don't remember exactly when they got it, but it was being used in Saginaw the last I knew. They've been using it alot the past few months on Y118 to interchange with the MMRR, among other things.

LSRC Flint yardmaster just told inbound Z127 to switch out the new Buick City operation after they're done yarding their train. They have 30 empty autoracks to spot.

Another update: 11 loaded autoracks went south on Z127 yesterday. LSRC also ran an X127 last night. The train was all empty racks.

They already are being tacked onto the D735/736 trains on CSX and Z127NB/SB on LSRC. Can’t believe 22 years later and we are seeing loaded auto racks going through Wixom for Buick City - something I’d never thought I’d see or say ever again! I wonder how they convinced GM to ship them from Buick City rather than New Boston where CSX gets a direct haul?
