Re: Hamilton Northwestern Railroad Co.
They do own a decent chunk of land there in Fillmore at the Fillmore Rd crossing. Looks like the local farmer has crops on some of their land, and a nearby house has a small building on their property too. Guess we'll see how large the transload gets as time goes on. I wonder why the railroad owns ...

Re: Hamilton Northwestern Railroad Co.
Does anybody know if any of the transload business on the WMI going to be moved up here for the sake of efficiency for the customers involved? Ya know more northern customers will get their product up in Fillmore and customers closer to the state line will get their stuff in Hartford? Bet the local ...

Re: CN says goodbye to Baraga
maybe because cn kept the line to l'anse? and it wouldn't be profitable for someone to operate an isolated section of a couple miles of unused track? no filing to abandon has been filed with the stb. wisconsin central had filed and received discontinuance of service. I was referring to the whole line

CN says goodbye to Baraga
Sounds like CN is pulling the plug on the mothballed section of railroad between L’Anse and Baraga. Per a post on the YooperRails group on Facebook the town was notified last month. How long has it been since anything even went to Baraga? 10-15 years maybe? Wondered why the line wasn’t offered to Wa...

Re: Plymouth & GR sub-div Work
Grand Ledge siding is no longer going to be designated as a siding in the timetable, it will just be an "other than main/yard" track, with hand throw switches. Expect either end of the siding to have just an intermediate signal. The thinking behind putting an absolute signal west of town is that th...

Re: Plymouth & GR sub-div Work
There is a pair of new signals at Lawson Rd (100.77?). Both masts have two heads, three aspects on the upper and two on the bottom. The relay case said “Grand Ledge Holdout”. What is the purpose of this signal when there isn’t a control point? I can understand why you’d need at EB holdout but why a...

Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?
Guessing this means that trains will be originating out of the Bay City/Saginaw area then? No need to keep a geep in the house at Alma. Wonder if the Alma interchange will also be a thing of the past minus unit trains. Are there even any active customers in the Alma area?
