Re: Single-tracking NS in Mansfield OH
PSR has changed everything. This line however was doomed from the day PRR and NYC merged! Well yeah and as puzzling as things are despite all its downgradings west of canton, still home to a handful of ns trains still, an as needed csx rock run to bucyrus, a way for the wheeling to run certain trai...

Re: CSX in Wooster
It could be as needed rock train that runs out of the MM Spore Quarry just northwest of Bucyrus. where csx has to utilize ex pennsy ns/cfe/whe trackage to access a spur on the nw corner and out to the quarry. Now they run back to either crestline and get back on csx that way or run it through wooste...

Bucyrus, Upper Sandusky, Vermilion, Sterling, and Clinton Village aka warwick....where RJ Corman interchanges with csx on that huge curve.

Re: IORY south end part five.
Way Way down on the South End of the IORY, at thee very end of the Oasis Sub is Undercliff Yard where CIG Logistics set up a transload here. So Ive been told that IORY now brings carloads of flour down here from North Dakota via the CFE at Lima from a Chicago connection. And add to Ive been told tha...

Re: radio station and csx in cumberland maryland.
Yup, Ive been chatting with a couple of posters in some New England Railfanning facebook groups and they tell me that up to two pairs, maybe more could be rerouted away from Selkirk to make room there to avoid having trains backhaul to Rigby Yard in Portland Maine. Sounds like the original csx main ...

Re: Something with East Columbus Terminal Railway
The good news is that the CCET is doing great business now and in the future in despite of some non-railfans of the CCET on this site. Now wait a cotton pickin minute, its not that nobody wanted this line to be abandoned just for the sake of being abandoned. Nobody wants to see a dying railroad lin...

Re: The return of gypsum near Alabaster for Lake State.
With the addition of this additional train traffic, it makes one wonder if CSX shouldnt have pulled out that three mile long siding between Atwood Wye and Longwood Blvd on their former flint sub. And they tore out the yard in Tawas City some years back for a wal mart of all things.

Re: Michigan Rail business news redux
Don before the expansion and on a regular basis agroliquid sees 2 to 3 switches a week but the seasonal times of spring and fall are the busiest times of year. In these busy time periods they will get 8 to 15 cars at a time and just 3 to 8 during the offseason. they do ship loads out to other agro f...

Re: Michigan Rail business news redux
Lots of conversation about the GLC lately and their big customer Zeeland farms. well ironically enough they have another customer that always seems to be flying under the radar in the railfan world. I for one am a big stickler when it comes to stuff like this but our man don simon is the rail custom...

Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?
What wall did LSRC supposedly hit?? Seems like they are OK, so far ..?? oh yeah, i agree. They are doing a ok but have you seen their newsletter lately? until early last year or 2022, they would always report about lineside customers etc...and lately it seems like the newsletter is lacking something.

Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?
I still dont understand. How did HESR a gwi subsidiary go from being a mediocre operation to leapfrogging the GLC and now even LSRC to being the top dog not only in the thumb but all of east central and north central michigan. GLC seemed to hold thier own after they moved thier operations over to ow...

Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?
This is bizaare, are they going to tear out the MMRR track and yard in Alma including the connection and Y? And does this have anything to do with Rickoff being out at LSRC? I thought the LSRC was growing and gaining customers?
