CSX was at alto today around 1:30pm, switching tanks. Locomotive #7568, six axle. Short train, 7 tanks, 2 hoppers, unless more cars were left on the Elmdale siding.

No covered hoppers in Lowell, except the one that has been sitting on a siding for weeks. Looks like Grand May have brought some to Ann Street this afternoon late.

Around 5:00pm, CSX was switching Alto, probably the same train in previous post.

A WB CSX went under M-6 (Grand Rapids) around 7:45 pm. Two locomotives, but in order to remain on the freeway, I could not get a good car count. Looked like several tanks and loaded lumber cars. As I entered EB I-96, the end of the train was just crossing the Thornapple River bridge, so it must have...

The 11 are in Lowell tonight. One hopper has been sitting on a usually unused track for a couple weeks now.

The sand cars (5-6) are gone today. Must be doing some frac'ing anyway.

Actually saw a sand truck unlading north of Ann Street today around 5:30pm!

Looks like a few new hoppers were brought up there, probably Wednesday or Thursday night.

I just heard something on CSX in Alto, about an hour ago, unless I was dreaming!

GRE returned WB to GR late around 4:00pm w/ 3885. Looked like 6 empties from Amway, including one tank and 14 from Lowell/King.

The sand transload north of Ann S. in GR is not busy yet, only 3 or 4 cars that I can see.

About 20 cars on the interchange track at Ann St./GR, for someone to pick up, likely Grand Elk. Looked like some new cars at Lowell today.

Alto today: About 10 loads of Cast Iron pipe and 8 LPG tanks today. Not sure when they arrived.

Some time last night or today, Grand Elk moved the sand hoppers out of the transload north of Ann St. Only a half dozen or so visible from Turner. The yard along US-131 has two tracks full of them. Not sure if they are empty or full. Maybe the oil/gas industry is picking up a little.

GRE headed west across the river around 3:30 or 4:00pm, maybe 6-8 covered hoppers. Did not see them head east earlier, but Lowell has 15 or 20 hoppers around King yet, so they must have brought a few new ones today.

Looks like the Frac Sand CH's north of Ann Street are turning over more often. The oil/gas industry must be picking up. Not sure what time Grand Elk switches that operation.

CSX local north of Ann St. in GR around 6:00pm, switching Padnos. Looks like one outbound CH from the GRE/Amway to be picked up by the CSX local when it heads back south.

I think 2 CH and 1 tank were for Amway. Still about 20 CH around Lowell/King tonight.

Not sure they made it to Lowell, but I might have missed them. Maybe just to Amway and back?
