Amazon is building a large distribution center on the former fair ground site at 8 Mile and Woodward. Currently, a portion of the fairgrounds along the CN Holly Sub are being used for container yard operations at Moterm. One would think that Amazon’s supply chain experts selected this location for ...

Re: This Should Not Have To Be Said
I was train watching about 7 years ago I was on the former C&NW, and I was doing night photos of a coaling tower in winter. A UP train passed that had a burning axle on it. My friend had a radio that was capable of transmitting (he works for another RR), but there was no way in hell we''d talk on it...

Re: Ford wants $240 m for Michigan Central Station
Considering what Ford has given Detroit over the past century, that people are griping about this I find interesting. Nobody squawked much at almost a billion dollars going for a sports stadium (LCA) when the city was bankrupt. The economic impact of this is huge, and people will use the facility da...

Those are still in there? I grew up in Jackson, remember them as a kid. I believe they were bought for some kind of restaurant and never used. They would have came in on the GT, and the last GT train in Jackson was 73 I believe.

Re: Chevy Volt Production Shutdown
So I picked up my Volt about two weeks ago: There are lease deals to be had on this vehicle for less than $250 a month. My reasons for the Volt were multifold: 1: Engineering, this vehicle won the "European Car of Year 2012", something we can really be proud of, no American vehicle has ever won this...

Re: Virus Hits Half a Million Macs
Yeah- I've only been a 20 year + Mac user, and grudgingly had to deal with PC's at work, and not once had a major hardware failure, or a virus, when I think back on all of the time I saved not dealing with PC problems, I am quite satisfied with my decision. And no I'm not going to put a bunch anti-v...

Re: Chevy Volt Production Shutdown
Here is my beef with the volt: it's development was federally funded. If the market wanted the car, GM would've put toward the money. It was a case of spending more money for political gain....and it's the money I put into govt as taxes hoping that we'd all benefit from...but we all don't. Nissan g...
