Re: Delray Connecting Status
Per KenB's post 2/2021. NO spat between Conrail and USS. The DC contacted the NS and cut a deal to keep their people working... Thank you. If the steel comes from the NS, does it come to DC via the Boat Yard Line and over the 141 and Short Cut drawbridges? Also, on aerial maps you can see there is ...

Re: Carleton Yard
Yes, at one time there was a single home in the middle of the wye to the DT&I. Don't recall any industries that far south on the Lincoln. Long siding (by the golf course) was still in use (by the Conrail local) in the 80's. Unsure if it was an interchange point between the PRR and C&O.

Some 3rd rail had wooden covers to prevent ice and snow build up. Rules were a little different then. Didn't type that but sounds cool!

Re: Greenfield Village "Railroad Days" of yore...
After the roundhouse and turn table were opened A.K.A. as Railroad Junction. The Village said that every day is railroad day now. And no need for a special event anymore. And the Civil war remembrance will never happen again. Way too many people BUTT HURT! We had been members for over 25 years and w...

Re: I thought we defused the railroad strike bomb...
Working conditions aside. The recent attendance policy really pissed a lot of people off. These D**KH**Ds sitting in their Ivory towers, think that they are Robber Barons of old! And they are NOT! That being said, the railroads were built on the backs of men that knew what they were getting into. To...

Do STUPID things, GET STUPID prizes! The crew can claim Permanent occupational disability and the carrier can sue for interfering with interstate commerce. And maybe terroristic activities. This will be worth watching, the ambulance chasers will.

Re: Operating Interlocking Towers 2022
Delray wasn’t quite the last. I believe local track switching responsibilities are still functioning at both the Shortcut Bridge and the NS Bridge over the Rouge in addition to bridge control. These are both within a mile or two of Delray. There are at least 3 interlocking towers still open in metr...

Re: NS Roadrailer service coming to an end?
I just talked to a buddy of mine that’s a conductor for NS and he’s told me that NS’ contract with triple crown will be ending soon, does anyone happen to know a timeline as to when the contract ends and also why they’re not extending it? In one if their most recent issues, Trains Magazine actually...
