Re: CSX Train Location Updates - September 2017
326/327 worked Benton Harbor. 336/337 worked Wixom, mainly autoracks and boxcars for Ford Wixom Assembly. Once those trains were canned, all the traffic came up on Q231 and Q287 (moved to Rougemere when Ford Wixom closed). All non-auto traffic/ MAL traffic was handled by D739, now what's barely lef...

Yes, that's still the same. D717 now starts out of Wayne and brings autoracks with him to Rougmere, everything else hasn't changed.GP30M4216 wrote:Does Plymouth local traffic still go to the Rouge via Q392/Q399 and then by D717 which is a Plymouth North Yard to Rougemere turn?

Re: Where's the coal?
In addition to the DTE coal trains to St. Clair, CSX has been running occasional eastern coal trains to Essexville as well. They are sporadic, but on a good week CSX has ran 2-3 loads through Plymouth, especially this past fall season.

Re: CSX Yard Jobs In Plymouth?
Y107 is the only Monday-Friday regular yard job in Plymouth. Y205 was the 2nd shift switcher until it was abolished sometime around 2009. I haven't seen or heard a Y303 in almost 2 years unless it only works certain nights.

Re: CSX Train Location Updates - 10/25/2016
This evening was extremely busy in Plymouth for a short period of time. Starting at 4:00PM: D716-26 went south with one of CSX's newest GP40-3s (first one ever seen doing locals in Plymouth) with 1 boxcar for Home Depot in Romulus. He met Northbound D739-26 at CP John Hix, then had to stop af Wayne ...

Re: When Can I See CSX in Holly?
The only other regular train that goes through Holly aside from 321/322 is D737, however, he gets out of Plymouth (on a typical day) around 6PM after building their train in North Yard to head north, plus they switch Lincoln Yard in Wixom before they reach Holly. 737's return run to Plymouth is in t...

Re: Busiest line within the State?
Here is my opinion CSX has 10-15 a day in Plymouth gets busier further south you go on the Saginaw sub alot of the trains run during the day. Because my Grandma is a half of a mile from the tracks and she can hear them. Though Plymouth can be very busy Because on a day back in August there were 3 t...

Re: Busiest line within the State?
The Plymouth area itself sees close to 25 trains on a good weekday. This time of the year when grain and coal (what's left of it) is at it's peak, there are 18-22ish trains per day south of Plymouth. This is on a 24-hour weekday period when the locals are running - makes the area feel busier than i...

Re: Western Electric Plant on the Plymouth Sub finds new lif
That's good news! What sorts of box cars? 50's? 60's? Hi-cubes? There was a CSX boxcar at Bay Logistics last week. On a typical week I've been seeing 2-4 boxcars at Bay. Either CSX or CN-family related boxcars and this is recent. A mixture of 50ft and hi-cube boxcars. Regarding Orion Assembly: is t...

Re: Western Electric Plant on the Plymouth Sub finds new lif
I haven't seen any rail cars there in a while and with the aluminum ingot business down to a trickle I doubt we will Bay Logistics south of town does a similar distribution of products to GM plants and receives various boxcars on a regular basis. There was a CSX boxcar at Bay Logistics last week. O...

Re: Western Electric Plant on the Plymouth Sub finds new lif
There's a chance they could use rail service because I read elsewhere that this plant is the supplier to other facilties for the "Big 3" outside of Michigan. Bay Logistics south of town does a similar distribution of products to GM plants and receives various boxcars on a regular basis. They could s...

Re: CSX Locomotive Roster News, Updates & Information Thread
The SBD painted unit was assigned to D739 for the longest time. This was back when D739 was still based out of Wixom right before and after the Ford Wixom Assembly Plant closed. I remember catching that locomotive setting off cars to the MAL in Wixom in the evening, then making a run-around in Linco...

Re: CSX Train Location Updates 7-31-16
Light power move WB through Okemos at 13:20. 2 CSX locomotives That's funny, just had light power with two CSX units going EAST not long after that. This one just more power to go to Plymouth to try and move last weeks GRP cars out of Plymouth. Hard to believe, but with 708 running only three days ...
