The fuel pad at Battle Creek has been out of service since the early 2010s. Most of the equipment has been removed.

I would assume because at the moment CSX/NS/BNSF have enough boxcars on hand to meet their current customer needs. As most of the "classic" 50' boxcars begin to age out in the next decade, I would assume you will see more new boxcars being built.

Bernie Beavers was commissioned by CSX to draw these maps of every subdivision on the railroad in the mid 90s. They were given to employees as training and reference material.

I mean to GLC defense, what can you ship when you have to go over a bridge that has a weight restrictions. So much that even 1225 can’t go over (it weights 401 tons) They still carry fully loaded center beams, cement, plastic pellets, scrap metal, gas, etc over that bridge so it's not like they can...

What is the difference between the 6-axle trucks on the SD40's that GLC currently has vrs. the SD38-2's 6-axle trucks that GLC is rumored to be getting? I don't think it is an issue with the 6 vs 4 axel, it has to do with the design of the trucks and the equipment the GLC has to do the work. Litera...
